SCRIPTURE: 2 Timothy 4:5, AMPC  As for you, be calm and cool and steady, accept and suffer unflinchingly every hardship, do the work of an evangelist, fully perform all the duties of your ministry.

When you get up in the morning, make the decision: “I’m going to be calm and cool and steady today. I’m going to rule my thoughts. I’m not just going to think whatever comes to mind. I’m going to purposefully think thoughts that are positive, hopeful, and encouraging. I’m going to be selective about who I spend time with today. I’m going to associate with the right people. I’m going to rule my attitude today. I’m going to be my best, be grateful, and stay in peace. I’m going to rule my emotions today. I’m going to forgive the wrongs others do, I’m going to overlook insults, and I’m going to give people the benefit of the doubt.”

The first thing in the morning, it’s important to make this decision to rule your day. You have to decide that nothing that happens to you is a surprise to God, so you won’t let it upset you. Then when difficulties come, you’ve already decided to stay calm, to stay in faith, and make the most of the day.

    Prayer for Today

Father, thank You that nothing that happens to me is a surprise to You. Thank You for the power to remain calm and cool and steady, to rule my day. I declare that I’m going to rule my thoughts, my attitude, and my emotions and make the most of today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
