Wednesday Night Bible Study with Bishop T.D. Jakes (23 September 2021)

Wednesday Night Bible Study with Bishop T.D. Jakes: Whenever people are afraid, they start seeking God but whenever everything settles in our lives, we are back to forgetting him or attaching  less value to him and more value to everything else. before covid-19, a lot of people were relaxed and reluctant towards church and God related activities but now, covid-19 has brought about a new hunger for God and his word. the simple fact that there is an uncertainty of if one would make it till the next day or that one will be positive to this deadly virus has brought about an awakening.

The question is how do you behave when the fire goes out, when you no longer have the zeal? every fire goes out, at some point.

Acts 4: 18 vs 21 says, “And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.  For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard. So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done”.

Some of us are upset about our current position because we do not know that its a practice in preparation for where we are headed, where you are might be bettering your communication skill, or your leadership skills, just like God did for Moses in the wilderness, he prepared him for leading his people in the deserts through making him a shepherd.

Bishop T.D Jakes teaches us that the real test begins after the fire has stopped burning and the zeal to  continue is no longer there, the zeal to search for Gods truth and follow them is no longer there, most at times our purpose will show itself after the fire, would we push on long enough after the fire to experience Gods true path for us?
