Vatican gives update On Pope Francis As He Remains In Hospital

Pope Francis Health Update : Pope Francis, aged 88, remains hospitalized at Rome’s Gemelli University Hospital as he battles double pneumonia and chronic bronchitis. The Vatican has announced that, for the second consecutive week, he will not lead the customary Sunday prayers.

Admitted on February 14 after experiencing breathing difficulties, the Pope’s condition has shown slight improvement. However, his medical team emphasizes that he is “not out of danger” due to his age and existing health issues. Dr. Sergio Alfieri, leading the medical team, stated, “Is he out of danger? No. But if the question is ‘is he in danger of death’, the answer is ‘no’.”

Despite his hospitalization, Pope Francis has been engaging in limited work from his hospital room. He continues to communicate with Vatican officials, with Archbishop Edgar Peña Parra facilitating interactions between the Pope and various departments.

The Vatican has dismissed speculations regarding a potential resignation, focusing instead on the Pope’s recovery. Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s Secretary of State, emphasized the importance of allowing the Holy Father time to heal, stating that discussions about resignation are premature.

As the Pope’s health continues to be closely monitored, the global Catholic community remains in prayer for his swift and complete recovery.
