SCRIPTURE: “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)

The word of God has in it all the ingredients you need to succeed. There is absolutely no success outside the word of God. Please, don’t follow the people that trivialize the word of God. If you must experience lasting success, the word of God must be the foundation.

Many people take pride in the number of chapters of the Bible they have read. It is not enough to read the Bible like a storybook. Yes, it is great to read the Bible in 90 days or 180 days. But beyond a casual reading of the word, give attention to studying the word. Don’t gloss over the word. Study it!  You can get other easy-to-read translations. Take any of the versions you are comfortable with and in the language that you understand most and study the word.

Remember that the word is the lamp to your feet and light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Think of it! How far can you go in the dark without the lamp that gives light? Clearly, you cannot go far without stumbling. In the same way, as a child of God, you cannot go far in life without the word of God. Everything you need is in the word of God. That is why we can declare with boldness: “Whatever the word cannot give to you, you do not need it and it does not exist”

The word of God is complete. But you cannot benefit from it if you do not devote quality time to it. In the book of Psalm 119:89 (KJV), the Psalmist declares: “For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven”. If the word is settled in heaven, then it is your responsibility to establish it on earth because God has given you the power to reign here on earth. But you cannot establish what you do not know.

So, I challenge you to give attention to the study of the word of God.
