When he finally felt compelled to choose sides, the Hebrews rejected him, and he was run out of town.
T.D. Jakes points out that the fight between the Egyptian and Hebrew slave where Moses intervened represents his own internal conflict — a conflict between who he was born to be and how he was raised. Moses felt sure that he was doing what he was supposed to do, yet he faced major obstacles and pushback.
We, too, may often feel unsettled when we’re following what we believe is our God-given purpose and run into conflict. But these bumps in the road don’t necessarily mean we’re doing the wrong thing. It might just be the wrong time.
