There is nothing more heart-wrenching than learning that your child has cancer. This diagnosis can change your whole world and leave you feeling like there is nothing you can do to help them. Losing a child to cancer is the worst fear for any parent, so finding strong prayers for a child with cancer may be one of the only ways you know how to respond. Our kids are always special to us, but when something like this happens, their life becomes all that matters. While we don’t fully understand why God allows some people to be diagnosed with this disease and not others, we can trust that He knows what He’s doing.
Strong Prayers For Child With Cancer
1. Most Holy God and Father/Creator,
Most Holy God and Father/Creator,
You are the creator of all things, including this child. You are their father and protector. You have provided them with a healthy body, mind, and spirit. You placed within them a desire for life, love, joy, and peace; but most importantly for you. In their times of weakness or sadness, it is your will that they turn to you for comfort and strength because you are their healer and provider. Your love is endless as is your power to heal all things through your name Jesus Christ our Lord who lives in us all!
2. Lord Jesus Christ,
Lord Jesus Christ,
you suffered and died on the cross for our sins.
You rose from the dead and now reign in heaven with your Father. You are our Lord, Savior, and Redeemer. You are also a Healer of all diseases. I pray that you will heal my child’s cancer so that he/she can live a long healthy life here on earth and enjoy the blessings of heaven when it is his/her time to go home to be with you for eternity
3. Most Holy Spirit,
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and is present in the world to help us to pray, worship, and love. The Holy Spirit enables us to be close to God by strengthening our relationship with Christ through his baptism as an initiation into Christ’s life. The power of this spiritual union helps us become more aware of our own role in God’s creation as we grow spiritually through prayer.
4. Creator of heaven and earth,
Creator of heaven and earth,
You have blessed us with your magnificent creation. You are the creator of everything in this world, including all things visible and invisible: the heavens, the earth, the seas, and all that is in them. You have given us life to enjoy each other as well as yourself. We thank you for your love which created our bodies and sustains them daily by giving us food to eat and water to drink. Help my child today as he/she battles cancer so that he/she can continue growing strong physically, emotionally, and spiritually through his/her recovery process with strength from above until we meet again on that beautiful day when Jesus returns!
5. Our Lord, Savior, and Redeemer,
Our Lord, Savior, and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. We thank You for hearing our prayers as we gather around the bedside of Your child who has cancer. Please help us to see this illness as a part of Your plan for our child’s life.
Through St. Michael the Archangel, who protects us in the battle against the forces of evil, we pray that You might protect our family from all harm and danger in the coming days and weeks. We ask that You heal our children completely so that they may be restored to full health after surgery or treatment without fear of recurrence or relapse of disease. In Your mercy, please hear our prayers and bless us with peace this day!
6. Great Physician,
Heavenly Father, we come to you with a plea for healing. We ask that you would heal the body of this child and that their heart be filled with joy. We pray for the doctors and nurses who are caring for them in their hospital room, as well as all those who work there. We pray that they would be blessed by your grace while they do their jobs and make sure to keep our children comfortable in their time of need.
We pray over the family of this child, asking that each member would feel your presence as well as receive comfort from others during this difficult time. We also ask that these parents find faith in You through these trials so they can take care of themselves enough to take care of their child during the recovery time after treatment has ended!
We pray over the friends who have been supporting this family throughout everything going on right now; may Your guidance protect them from themselves or others — especially from being hurt somehow emotionally because someone else might say something insensitive or unkind about what is going on right now!
Finally Lord we’re asking You just one more thing: please show us how best we can support each other during this time so everyone feels loved enough by others around them even though things aren’t exactly going [ing] according
7. Mighty Healer,
- Jesus Christ is the Mighty Healer.
- Jesus Christ is the Healer of all our diseases.
- Jesus Christ is the Healer of all our wounds.
- Jesus Christ is the Healer of all our afflictions.
- Jesus Christ is the Healer of all our infirmities.
8. O Holy Child Jesus,
O Holy Child Jesus,
you are the one who brought peace to the world,
you are the one who brought healing to the sick,
you are the one who brought life to the dead,
you are the one who brought hope to the hopeless.
9. Our Lord Jesus Christ,
Our Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God and the author of life, You have given us the healing power of your love that can overcome all diseases. We thank you for hearing our prayers for (child’s name). We ask you to remove every trace of sickness from his body and heal him completely. May he/she be made whole in mind, body, and spirit through your miraculous power.
We pray that you will strengthen this child’s faith in you as he/she faces his/her medical challenges. Help him/her know that nothing is impossible with God; give him/her hope through your grace during these difficult times.
We pray that whenever there are doubts or fears about what lies ahead, remind this child always of how much we love him/her—and will never leave him/her no matter what happens on earth! Give us courage as parents because we trust in Your promises: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD,’ “plans to prosper you and not to harm you…” (Jeremiah 29:11)
10. Heavenly Father and Mother,
Heavenly Father and Mother,
We come before you to ask that you heal the child of cancer. Please comfort the child and his/her family as they undergo this time of trial and suffering. Protect them from any further harm. Allow them to find peace in their hearts knowing that You are there with them, always.
We ask these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior who died for our sins so that we may be forgiven of them because He loves us so much (1 John 4:10).
11. Praying for your child with cancer can bring you peace and hope.
Prayer is a powerful force.
It’s a way of communicating with God, and it can bring you peace and hope in the midst of your child’s cancer battle.
It’s also a way of asking God to help, heal, strengthen and protect your child; this is critical for those who are suffering from cancer because they need all the help they can get!
We hope the prayers above will be a source of comfort to you and your family if your child is diagnosed with cancer. Cancer is scary, it makes us question our faith and trust in God’s plan. We must trust that God has a plan for everything and he loves us unconditionally no matter how hard things get.
