Steven Furtick Sermon: Joy is a focus before it’s a feeling

Steven Furtick Sermon Joy is a focus before it is a feeling : The lead pastor of Elevation church and the husband of Holly Furtick, pastor Steven Furtick has come through with this inspiring and educative sermon titled ”Joy is a focus before it’s a feeling” released on the 31 March 2022.

In this sermon, Pastor Steven Furtick started by saying ” I believe that there are some things that are destroying your joy that you are unaware of.  There is a difference between discovering joy and developing joy. Discovering joy means it is waiting somewhere and you have to find it. It may be waiting in your next career move, it may be waiting in your next relationship. it is waiting somewhere you are not right now.

James 1:2 says ”Consider it pure joy my brothers and sisters whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let Perseverance finish its work , so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

It is very important to know the distinction of joy, knowing what it really is and understanding its nature.

we are not all going through the same thing but we are all going through something.

There are many different kinds of trials as there are different kinds of drinks at starbucks and different paints at home.

There are trials associated with plenty and there are trials associated with poverty.  It is easy to understand the first one because everyone understands that being broke is a battle, but management of resources can in its own way test a part of your character, that if you are not prepared to have tested,  can create a lot of problem than financial poverty. In fact, financial riches can create relational poverty if there is not the emotional maturity to help us to steward with understanding what we have been given.

There are single people’s trials and there are married people’s trials. There are trials that are associated with loneliness and there are trials that are associated with companionship. We have seen that no matter how great your name is in the eyes of the people, you can still want to take your very own life because joy is not a product of what people say about you. Joy is not a product of how people hold you in esteem or disregard.
