Stephen Chandler Sermons How to Get a Financial Miracle: In 2nd kings 4:1-7 “Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the Lord: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen. And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil. Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few. And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full. So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out. And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed. Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest”.
Deuteronomy 8 vs. 18 says “and you shall remember the lord your god for it is he who gives you the power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he swore to your fathers as it is this day”. it is important that we have a Godly relationship with money, Stephen Chandler tells us that some people have a Babylonian mindset towards money i.e a self reliant mindset. relying on God gives us peace. we do not have to struggle for money because when we do it is is no longer a miracle.
The God who we serve is the main source of wealth and he is ever willing to give us wealth, but we have to create a relationship with God, such that when people look at us, our live style, marriages and even our account statements, they can tell that we have the favour of God upon us.
We expect miracles to drop from heaven but heaven is within us, the woman who Elisha prayed for the multiplication of her oil already had a little amount of oil in her house, he did not drop oil down from heaven. God has given us all we need to be wealthy but we despise them, we do not see them as things that God can use to establish us and because we do not believe, they do not receive.
We must keep an open mind when it comes to things that have to do with God because he works in mysterious ways and can work true and source, let us not in our expectation try to dictate the pattern with which God will work.
