Spiritual Roadblocks

The Bible says that we live in a spiritual battle. If you’re not fighting the good fight, then you are no longer a soldier for Christ. The enemy wants to hinder your progress and keep you from reaching God’s plan for your life. He will do whatever he can to stop you from doing what God has called you to do. I have found that there are six roadblocks that Satan uses against Christians: disagreement with God’s opinion; dissatisfaction and discontentment; depression and discouragement; defeat and discouragement; disappointment and disillusionment; distrust and disbelief

Spiritual Roadblocks

Roadblock 1 – Disagreement with God’s opinion.

  • Disagreement with God’s opinion.

This is one of the most common roadblocks to spiritual growth. It comes from believing that there are other opinions that are just as valid, if not more so, than God’s.

  • The Bible says that God’s opinion is based on His Word (2 Timothy 3:16). He has given us His Word so we can know Him and His mind perfectly (Psalm 19:7). Since God knows everything perfectly, then every word written in Scripture must also be perfect. Therefore any disagreement with it must be false or incorrect!
  • The Bible tells us that “God’s word never returns void” (Isaiah 55:11). In other words, when you believe what He says and obey His commands then He will bring good things into your life! This includes peace with Him as well as peace within yourself because you won’t have any inner conflicts anymore due to conflicting beliefs about right or wrong behavior towards others around you at school/work etc;

Roadblock 2 – Dissatisfaction and discontentment.

The second major spiritual roadblock is dissatisfaction and discontentment. This is a common roadblock, and it’s usually the result of comparing yourself to others or to the world’s standards.

For example, you might be dissatisfied with your job because your neighbor was promoted ahead of you or because someone on social media has posted pictures from an exotic vacation that seems out of reach for you. When this happens, we tend to think about how much we don’t have, rather than what we do have in our lives. The truth is that everyone around us has their own struggles, so don’t compare yourself or feel bad about yourself if someone else seems happier than you are; instead focus on what makes YOU happy!

Roadblock 3 – Depression and discouragement.

Depression is a serious illness, and one that can be overcome. Depression is a chemical imbalance in the brain that needs to be treated with medication. If you’re suffering from depression, don’t hesitate to talk to your doctor about it.

Depression can also be used as a spiritual roadblock. When our lives have gotten out of balance and we feel powerless to change the situation we’re in, it’s easy for us to feel depressed. Instead of accepting our circumstances as they are–which could lead us down a path of self-pity or despair–we should instead look for ways we can improve things for ourselves by changing our attitude and perspective on life’s challenges.

Roadblock 4 – Defeat and discouragement.

Your spiritual journey is not a straight line. Obstacles will be in your way and you may feel defeated, discouraged or even hopeless at times. In fact, these feelings are normal and healthy on your path to self-discovery. You’ve set out on a spiritual journey because you want change in your life and this takes time (and patience) to achieve.

So what do defeat and discouragement look like? Defeat is when we give up hope that what we desire will ever happen for us; it’s giving up the fight before we’ve even tried our best to get what we want in life! Discouragement happens when something unexpected happens that throws us off course from reaching our goals; it could be anything from sickness to financial issues but often times discouragement comes from being overwhelmed by things beyond our control. Here are some ways you can deal with these roadblocks:

  • Remember why you started – Pick yourself back up! Remind yourself why you started out on this journey of growth in the first place so that you have a reason for getting back up again after hitting any bumps along the way.* Build an action plan – When dealing with defeat or discouragement try defining specific steps towards success then focus on those tasks till they’re complete instead of dwelling on all of the things which haven’t worked yet.* Surround yourself with positive people – It’s easy falling into negative thinking patterns so make sure those around who are supportive so they can help lift each other up when needed

Roadblock 5 – Disappointment and disillusionment.

Disappointment and disillusionment can be defined as the loss of hope in someone or something. You feel like you have been hurt and let down by someone or something that you trusted. This is a common feeling for anyone who has ever had their heart broken, but it can also happen in situations where there’s been no physical relationship involved at all.

If you are going through disappointment and disillusionment, you may feel as if your life has lost all meaning. You may even begin to question everything about yourself—your self-worth, your abilities, your goals, etc.—and think that perhaps everything could be better if only you were different than who or what you are now.

Roadblock 6 – Distrust and disbelief.

Distrust and disbelief are different. Distrust is a lack of trust, while disbelief is a lack of belief. People can be distrustful without being disbelieving, or vice versa. The two can work together to keep you from moving forward in your spiritual journey.

When you’re distrustful of someone or something, it means that you don’t fully trust them or the situation they are involved in. You may not be able to see their true intentions, so even if they have good intentions they might still cause harm to yourself and others around them as a result of their actions because they don’t know better yet. If someone is being dishonest with themselves then this creates negative energy around them which causes chaos within their own lives too!

Disbelief on the other hand doesn’t come from a bad place at all – it actually comes from fear! When you believe something will work out then it will…but only when we let go of fear can we truly embrace our power over our lives and achieve great things!

You can be a spiritual road warrior by keeping your focus on Christ.

In order to overcome spiritual roadblocks, you can be a spiritual road warrior by keeping your focus on Christ. This means focusing on the good in the world, yourself and others, as well as God and His future plans for you. If you focus on what’s wrong with your life or others, it will be harder for you to see all that is right with them. By being aware of how blessed we are as humans living on earth today—and remembering our eternal destination—we will be able to recognize any spiritual roadblocks that may be getting in our way and find ways around them!

Conclusion

It’s important to remember that while we may have come up against these roadblocks, it doesn’t mean that we are doomed or that there is no hope for us. We can overcome them with the help of God and His grace. The key is focusing on Christ and working through each of these obstacles one day at a time.
