Dear Heavenly Father,

We thank you for this time together. We know that it is a special time of day, and we are grateful that we can spend it together. How blessed we are to be able to enjoy our children before they grow up and leave us! Help us to enjoy each other more than ever before. In the next few years, as they grow into teenagers who have their own opinions and activities, keep us close so that we may always be able to talk freely with them without worrying about what they will think or say. Please help us see things from their point of view so that we can understand one another better.

Help us not only appreciate how wonderful life is now but also look forward excitedly to all of the great things ahead for our family in the future!

4. Father, thank you for all of the little things in our lives and help us to be grateful for them.

That’s all we have time for today, but it’s important to remember that these bedtime prayers are only the beginning of a child’s spiritual journey. As they get older, we can expand on what they already know and introduce them to God in new ways. Bedtime prayers should be a regular part of our lives—just like brushing our teeth or eating dinner. They are essential in helping us grow closer to God and each other as well as teaching us how much He loves us!
