The Way Home (September-14-2021) Robert Morris

Robert Morris Sermon The Way Home : Prodigal means lacking restraint, all of us at one point or another, in one part of our lives or another have been prodigal. to find our way back to God, we have to be honest to ourselves, others and our father in heaven, just like the prodigal son did in.  Luke 15 vs 17-19 says, “ And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,  And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants”.

To be honest is to not hold anything back, it means completeness, if there is a part of your life where you are away from home and you want to come back home to christ, you would have to be completely honest to yourself about it. A lot of times are not honest with ourselves.

It is important also to be honest to others, James 5;16 says, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much”. We have to have someone we can talk to, we need to make our confessions when we deviate from the right part no matter how small it may seem, because if you do not confess the little things then you will not be able to confess the bigger things, we have to note that satan only works in the dark and not the light, so we must bring our little deviations to the light. so that we do not give the devil an opportunity. we also have to be able to hear our spouse or anyone who comes to us to talk.

We always have to be honest to our father. To do this you have to be honest to yourself and other. we cant hide anything from god, even if we do not tell him, he already knows, whatever sin we have committed, we have to be honest to God about it and we have to know there is no reason to lie or be afraid because, our sins have been died for, all we need to do is come out clean.

Robert Morris teaches us to always come clean before ourselves, others and God our Father.
