Prayers For Firefighters

Firefighters are brave men and women who risk their lives every day to keep us safe. We at MadeFirePrayers want to thank them for their service and bravery, but also want to show them how much we care for them as individuals and as an organization. We’ve created this simple guide on how you can pray for your local fire department when they are off duty and at home with their families.

    Prayers For Firefighters

    1. God, our Creator, we place the firefighters in your hands.

God, our Creator, we place the firefighters in your hands. As you have created them and their bodies, so also do you create the fire that brings them into danger. We pray that you will keep them safe from harm and guide their hands as they fight back against this destructive force. Protect all those who find themselves near the fire because of work or circumstance; may their courage be strengthened by your guidance and grace.

Protect the firefighters’ families who wait for news at home. May they feel comforted by your presence during this difficult time, knowing that you are with them even when loved ones cannot be physically present to offer comfort themselves. May all those affected by this tragedy know that they are not alone; we lift up our hearts in prayerful solidarity with those who mourn today’s losses more than words can say!

    2. Lord God, You called Saint Florian to be the protector of all firefighters.

Saint Florian is the patron saint of firefighters. He was a Christian martyr, a Roman soldier, and also served as a fireman in Vienna.

He was born in Hungary around the year 280 AD (the exact date has been lost to history). Florian converted to Christianity at an early age, and he later moved to Rome where he joined the army in 286 AD. Three years later he was promoted to centurion after showing bravery during the battle with Barbarian tribesmen that threatened Italy’s borders with Gaul (modern-day France).

As part of his responsibilities as a soldier under Emperor Maximianus Herculius, Saint Florian was responsible for putting out fires when they broke out on city streets or within buildings during those times when there were no firefighters available yet–a dangerous but necessary job! Saint Florian had great faith that God would protect him while performing this duty so often took risks others might not have dared take–such as entering burning buildings without any protective gear such as masks or gloves!

    3. Heavenly Father, You have called us to a service of love and compassion.

Heavenly Father, You have called us to a service of love and compassion.

Help us to be loving and compassionate with our families, friends, and coworkers. Help us to be good to each other in our communities so that we may become One Nation Under God.

In this day and age, we need more people willing to stand up for what is right no matter the cost or consequence. We need more people who will stand boldly for what is good in this world by fighting against all forms of injustice. Please help us learn how important it is for Your children on Earth (including ourselves) to support one another during these tumultuous times so that we can continue doing Your work for many years yet to come!

Honor Your word which says: “And now I say unto you My sons whom I have chosen; yea even my beloved Sons hear ye my voice & follow me & walk not after your own hearts but after the guidance of mine eye which leads them into truth & light.” (Moroni 2:35)

    4. Lord Jesus Christ, I pray that you protect and guide our brave firefighters.

I pray that God will protect and guide our brave firefighters. We need your help, Lord Jesus Christ!

You are the light of the world. You are the way, the truth, and the life. You are our Savior and you can do all things if we trust in your power. Please help our firefighters to stay safe as they bravely battle these high flames against an invisible enemy: fire itself!

    5. Dear Lord, lead and guide our firefighters so that they may be safe.

Dear Lord, lead and guide our firefighters so that they may be safe.

Heavenly Father, You have called us to a service of love and compassion.

God, our Creator, we place the firefighters in your hands.

    6. Almighty God, through Your Son Jesus Christ You have perfect dominion over all things whether on earth or in heaven.

Almighty God, through Your Son Jesus Christ You have perfect dominion over all things whether on earth or in heaven. We thank You for the grace of salvation that has come to us through His death and resurrection.

We ask that You grant our brothers and sisters in the fire service Your protection as they face the dangers of their profession on a daily basis. May they be kept safe from harm, knowing that You are with them both in the midst of life-threatening situations and when they are not working at all. Grant them wisdom when making decisions about their safety and well-being so that they may fulfill Your purpose for their lives while serving others.

Prayer is powerful! Prayer moves God to act! When you pray for your brother or sister firefighter(s), God hears those prayers and acts upon them, bringing about His plan for each individual’s life in accordance with His will for all people everywhere!

    7. We don’t always understand why we must face certain trials in life but we can be sure that you are always with us, holding us up and keeping us safe.

During this time of tragedy, we are all reminded of the strength and power that comes from prayer.

We don’t always understand why we must face certain trials in life but we can be sure that you are always with us, holding us up and keeping us safe. We ask your blessing on all those who wear the uniform and protect us on a daily basis so they may return home safely to their families every night. We pray for comfort for those who have lost loved ones or were injured during this firefighting mission. May they find peace in knowing that all things work together for good according to your plan (Romans 8:28).
