Pastor Michael Philips was born in 1975 in Baltimore, Maryland, in an area heavily faced with gang violence and endless crime. He only had his father as his positive role model but tragically lost him when he was barely 12.
Pastor Michael Philips attended West Virginia University on a basketball scholarship. But due to a car accident that affected his fibula and tibia, he couldn’t participate in sports and lost the scholarship. After this, he sold drugs for over 2 years before his arrest.
Pastor Michael Philips stood before a judge after 6 months in a pre-trial; he was presented with the option of 10 years in prison or attending a college program for adjudicated youth.
