Pastor Joseph Prince: Can You Lose Your Salvation? Part 1

The lead Pastor of New Creation Church Singapore, the founder of Joseph Prince Ministries and husband of Wendy Prince, Pastor Joseph Prince has come through with this amazing and life changing sermon titled ‘‘Can you lose your salvation? part 2 and it is a sermon hinged on understanding the unfailing promise of God on salvation.

In today’s sermon, we delve into a topic that has stirred the hearts and minds of believers throughout history: the security of our salvation in Christ Jesus. Join me as we embark on a journey of exploration and biblical understanding, seeking to grasp the depth of God’s unchanging love and His unfailing promise to keep us secure in His grip.

Opening Scripture: Romans 8:38-39 (NIV) “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Message: My dear brothers and sisters, the question of whether we can lose our salvation is one that often arises, causing confusion and doubt. However, let us approach this topic not with fear or uncertainty but with a desire to seek truth in the Word of God.

To lay a solid foundation for our understanding, we must first recognize the unshakable love of our Heavenly Father. Our salvation is not dependent on our works, our performance, or our ability to keep a perfect record. It rests solely on the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross.

When we accepted Jesus as our Savior, we were united with Him in a covenant sealed by His blood. This covenant is unbreakable and everlasting. God’s grace is greater than our failures, sins, and shortcomings. His love is unconditional and His promise of salvation is irrevocable.

Throughout Scripture, we find reassurances of God’s unwavering commitment to His children. Jesus Himself declared in John 10:28 (NIV), “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand.” Such is the assurance we have in our relationship with Him.

However, as we explore this topic further in the coming sermons, we must also address the biblical warnings against complacency and the importance of perseverance in our faith. While our salvation is secure, our spiritual journey requires active participation, a continual surrender to God’s transforming power, and a genuine desire to walk in obedience to His Word.

It is crucial to discern the difference between losing our salvation and the consequences of our choices. While we cannot lose our position as children of God, our actions have earthly consequences and can hinder our fellowship with Him. Yet, even in times of waywardness or seasons of doubt, God’s grace remains available to restore and renew us.

Conclusion: As we conclude part one of this sermon series, remember that the security of our salvation rests not on our ability to keep it but on the unwavering love and faithfulness of our Heavenly Father. He holds us in His hands, and no power on earth or in heaven can separate us from His love.

In the upcoming sermons, we will explore the Scriptures further, seeking to gain a more comprehensive understanding of this topic. Let us approach this with open hearts, ready to receive the truth that sets us free from fear and doubt, empowering us to live boldly as children of God.

May the assurance of God’s unfailing promise fill your hearts, strengthen your faith, and inspire you to live a life that honors Him. Rest assured, dear believers, that in Christ, we have eternal security.

    God bless you abundantly!

(Note: This sermon is based on the theological perspective of eternal security and the belief that once genuinely saved, a person cannot lose their salvation. It is essential to recognize that various Christian denominations may hold different views on this topic, and individual study and discernment are encouraged.)
