Pastor Jabin Chavez Sermons 13 September 2021 Fight Back – 2nd Samuel 23 vs. 11-12 says, “And after him was Shammah the son of Agee the Hararite. And the Philistines were gathered together into a troop, where was a piece of ground full of Lentiles: and the people fled from the Philistines. But he stood in the midst of the ground, and defended it, and slew the Philistines: and the Lord wrought a great victory“.
Just like Shammah we are encouraged to fight back, for Shammah was given victory against the philistines. That is the same way the lord will give us victory over covid-19 and every negativity that comes with it, but the most important thing is that we do not surrender to covid-19, we have to fight back. this war against covid-19 can be won, not just the financial aspect of the war or the health aspect, its something that has to do with our soul.
Its not going to be easy, but its possible to have victory through Christ our lord. we must ensure that this season does not mark us negatively this period. It should not affect us so negatively that we are unable to believe in God even when this pandemic is long over.
God wants to give us a story of “God got me through and God made a way”. God will reveal himself to us if we look for him. just like Shammah, we find ourselves in a battle we did not pick, and experiencing a circumstance we did not expect, we need the strength and faith of Shammah to fight back.
In every generation, God has a people, there will always be people like Shammah willing to fight back, fight fear, resist apathy, and trust in God. there will be people who take a stand in their lives, not because they are perfect people but because they love God and have faith in his promise.
Having faith in the promise of God is all we need to fight back, how can we have faith in God? its by loving him and trusting in him even without seeing.
