THEME: Biblical Examples Of Men That Walked In The Spirit: Apostle Paul

SCRIPTURE: “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;” – Philippians 3:10

Apostle Paul was a man with a supernatural life. He served God without reserve. God entrusted souls to him and he let nothing hinder him. 1 Corinthians 9:16 “For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” He loved God with all his heart and gave up every earthly pleasure and desire in order to give God his best. In our Fire Scripture, the apostle testified that he was not worthy of the call but God showed him mercy, being the last to see Jesus Christ.

Though the Apostle lived a supernatural life and did a lot of exploits in the name of the Lord, he had his own weaknesses, but he did not settle for that. He relentlessly fought against sin and the flesh (Galatians 2:20). He counted all his previous achievements as dung that he may win Christ (Philippians 3:7-8).

Apostle Paul was a terror to the kingdom of darkness. He wrestled against principalities and powers. He pulled down strongholds. He released satan’s capitves and humbled the sons of satan with the power of God. The kingdom of darkness knew him but they could not stop him. The Apostle was fully armed with the whole armour of God. He was a man greatly helped by God.

Apostle Paul did not look at the persecutions he faced, nor the sufferings he went through. His gaze was on the cross. He focused on Jesus. He suffered every kind of pain you can mention, but he kept the faith. He said in 1 Corinthians 9:26, “I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air.” He had no time to waste. He was all about the Father’s business, even in pain. He was beaten and locked in a cave in stocks. He suffered shipwreck and was in the deep twice. His own people rejected him. He was stoned. Demas forsook him in the missionary work. He was beaten many times with whips and rods. He suffered hunger and fasted a lot. He prayed always and made intercessions for people. He was always on the move from one place to another and sometimes, had no good shelter nor clothes to cover him from the cold. He worked hard so that he would have to give to the poor when the need arose, etc.

The life of Apostle Paul is a must study for every believer. Some of us have not even gone any mile with God or even suffered much for God and we are already tired. Apostle Paul was a man like us, but he endured and gave glory to God always.

Dear reader, these are the times we must fight the good fight of faith and keep our faith. The end is closer than we think.
