SCRIPTURE: “That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace:” – Psalms 144:12

Our focus is still on sowing and reaping through the lives of our children. It all boils down to how well the foundation is laid. The foundation of any structure speaks volume about the strength and durability of the structure. The same is true of human lives. How a child has been raised is a pointer to what would come out from such lives. Beloved parent, you cannot lay a foundation of rubbles and expect your son to grow like a healthy plant according to our memory verse. Neither can your daughter be strong like a pillar except it is well cast and solidly built from the foundation. You are the builder in partnership with the Holy Spirit, else the building risk collapse at the very near mishap.

In today’s Fire Scripture, the two houses stand for human lives, while the rain wind and flood represent the many troubles of this world. Every child would experience some problems at different stages of growth, but with what you have invested and injected into them, they shall be strong to withstand these storms of life, God helping them. But with a sandy foundation such lives lack strength and will crumble easily.

The four daughters of Phillip, the evangelist in Acts 21:8-9, are a good pointer to this. They were not defiled, and were prophetesses, God’s mouthpiece. Can you say this of your children? Do you concentrate on yourself and leave them all to themselves, without teaching them the way of life as a child of God and how to relate with others outside the Body of Christ? Are you busy with personal achievements and leave them to your wards? I mean househelp, nannies, neighbours and so on. These are likely sources of evil seeds in their lives, when it grows, parents shall also reap the repercussions of the carelessness and inability to watch over God’s own heritage.

Psalm 11:3 asks a question on what the righteous can do, if the foundation is destroyed. Beloved, as a parent you can pray and ask God to step into the life of your child and do a foundational correction. Only He can see and go that far! No man can see the foundation of a house tree or person, but God can, and will do the needful instantly. God cannot be mocked. What you sow is what you will reap. If you sow trouble you will reap the wind.

Your children are your future glory, it is advisable that you build them up having divine purpose in mind. No matter the trying times, they shall overcome by the power and strength of God. You will not only rejoice in them as you grow older, also, they shall continue with that godly legacy and God will be pleased with you and your generation, in the name of Jesus.

    PRAYER POINTS:

    1. O God establish my sons and daughters as healthy plants and pillars in Your presence, in the name of Jesus.
    2. Foundational errors in my children’s lives, receive divine correction, in the name of Jesus.
    3. O God, arise and make my children fulfil their purpose in life, in the name of Jesus.

    EVENING

    1. Powers that do not want me to rejoice over my children, you are liars, die, in the name of Jesus.
