    It was in the year 2016 that Lysa and Art’s marriage started to crash which lead to her devastation as Art was having an affair with another woman whilst abusing substances heavily.

    The couple underwent couples’ counselling for about a year and six months in hopes of salvaging their union but sadly counselling was not enough. Amidst the upheaval, Lysa told Art that she loved him and was more than willing to forgive him for his affairs but she would not share him with another woman, therefore asking him to quit his affairs but to no avail.

    As a result of her husband Art Terkerust’s continuous unfaithfulness and constant substance abuse, Lysa took a difficult decision to sought for a divorce bringing an end to their almost 25 years of marriage.

    In 2017, after finalizing her divorce with Art Terkerust, Lysa was diagnosed with breast cancer and was forced to undergo a major surgery. Whilst dealing with the pains of a broken marriage, cheating and betrayal Lysa was also faced with physical pains from degrading health.
