SCRIPTURE: -2 Thessalonians 2:11-12 “And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
What happens when a society is constantly bombarded by methodical lies? Its people fall under their spell and believe them. They become apathetic and are intimidated into submission.
Otto Adolf Eichmann was one of the major organizers of the Holocaust. At the Nuremburg trials, he outlined the many lies used to trap their victims. They strung razor wire to isolate Jewish neighborhoods and told them it was a necessity in the fight against Russia.
They forced the Jews to wear yellow stars on their sleeves and told them it was to signify they were under German protection. They took Jewish bribes and promised to buy better lands, nicer homes, and safer environments for their children.
A fellow officer testified that Eichmann vowed to “leap laughing into the grave because the feeling that he had five million people on his conscience would be for him a source of extraordinary satisfaction.”
The Bible tells of a son of perdition – the antichrist – who will come to power in the last days. For those who refuse the Truth and take pleasure in unrighteousness, they will fall for his lies and be condemned. Those who embrace God’s Truth will escape this delusion and rejoice at the brightness of Jesus’ coming.
