John Hagee Daily Devotional

John Hagee (August-24-2021) Daily Devotional: Proverbs 8:17 – I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me.

The tree in the Garden of Eden and the tree on which our Savior died at Calvary represent the power struggle that exists in every human heart.

In Eden, Adam succumbed to temptation, and one man opened the door to all the misery that sin brings with it. But at Calvary, another Man – our sinless Savior – tore the veil to give us access to the grace and righteousness that flow out of restored fellowship with God the Father.

Stop returning to the scene of the crime. Stop looking to a tree weighed down with fruit that leads to death and loss. Look instead to the tree where Christ became the Remedy for the terminal illness of sin. Eat of the fruit of this tree to find love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

To resist the temptation to waver between those two trees, pursue Him relentlessly. Focus your eyes exclusively on Him. Strip away anything that would weigh you down as you run for the prize of knowing Him. Place your hand in the nail-pierced hand that hung on that tree in your place. Never look back.

Be consumed by His holy fire. When we seek Him with our whole hearts, we will find Him. Consider everything else a loss for the unsurpassed worth of knowing Him. Keep pressing on and reaching out for the One Who wondrously reached out for you.

Blessing:  May the Lord bless you and keep you. May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you and give you His peace. Our Matchless Savior came to seek and to save you when you were far from Him. May you now pursue Him in that same way – with unrelenting passion and love. May your whole heart belong to Him for all time. In His name…amen.
