Joel Osteen Sermon : Empty Out The Negative
It is easy to go through life holding on to things weighing us down like resentment, doubt, pride and guilt. The problem is that when we allow these things in, they are taking up space for the good things that should be there. Imagine your life is like a container and that you were created to be filled with joy, peace, confidence but if you allow worry in, it pushes out the peace because there is no space for both.
The reason some people don’t enjoy their lives is because their container or heart is competitive with so many things. They are mostly worried, stressed out , bitter, guilty (beating themselves up for past events), jealous and they don’t realise that ten percent of their container is negative.
The Scripture says give no place to the enemy. You control what is in your container, what you think about, what you choose to allow in. We all have negative emotions and feelings but you have to make the choice “I am not going to give this negativity valuable space and let it rule my life. I am going to decide what I allow in there”.
Take care of what you give in to. Life is too short to go through with negative things holding us down. David says in Psalm 103; God fills my life with good things so I can stay young and strong. If you empty out the negative, God will fill you with good things and that is when you become beautiful for ashes, joy for morning. God has something better for you. What has your name on it is not going to somebody else.
In any situation of negativity, just imagine there is an angel with a gift that has your name on it. It says beautiful for ashes, the problem is if you are holding on to it the old there is no place for him to deliver the present. If you don’t let go the worries, he can’t start delivering those good things. When you make room, it is just a matter of time before that angel shows up with your delivery.
The Scripture says offenses will come but they are not a problem, we just don’t know what to do with them. You can’t keep them from coming but you can keep them from staying.
Don’t go through life looking in the rear-view mirror because you can’t do anything about the past but you can do something about right now. Being against yourself doesn’t help you do better, it pushes you down. It doesn’t have to do with what you have or haven’t done, it has to do with what Jesus has done. I have made many mistakes, I don’t deserve to be blessed, none of us deserve it but it is all about His mercy and that is why it is called His goodness. You don’t have to pay God back for all your mistakes because the price has already been paid. When you fall down, don’t stay down but get back up.
Sometimes it is hard to empty out the negative, because when a person does something wrong, human nature wants to hold it in the heart, carry around the grudge but they don’t deserve the attention you are giving. Do not forgive them for their sake, forgive them for your sake. It takes a lot of emotional energy to hold a grudge, to live with unforgiveness. What they did was wrong but you’ve to let it pass and release them. When you do, you’ve freedom and God has your vindicator.
You never really get over the negatives but you can get past it. Yes, it is difficult but you don’t have to stay grieving. Keep the pressure off and let go. You move forward gradually taking it one day at a time. God will never give you something you can’t handle. You might not understand how you will get there. But the scripture says; God will give you a peace for your piece. If you add up the little spaces all the negatives have taken, you will have only a fraction left. Let it out. Every morning empty out the negative and when the impurities come don’t let it stay. Just as Jesus, leading by example on the cross when he was about to pass on. He said, father forgive them for they know not what they do. Jesus was emptying out all the negative before giving up the ghost. Let out the negative every day of your life.
Healing Words by Joel Osteen
Our words have the power to lift, help people to get through a challenge and push them to their destiny. Words of encouragement can be healing words to people causing them to belief in themselves and a driving force towards greatness. More than ever, people need your healing words in the society we live in. Don’t be to caught up in your career or activities, take time to be a hero. God need you. He doesn’t have a voice on this earth to encourage except your voice. He is counting on you to help the people in your life. Don’t keep the healing words to yourself, be free with your compliment. Your thought is not a blessing until it is spoken.
If God puts healing words in your heart, say it. You don’t know what people are facing or the hurt they have from the past. God brought up that thought for a reason and it is not there by accident. Nobody gets tired of genuine compliment or healing words so when the thought comes up, tell them again. It is easier now because you can send them a text or call them if they’re not there in person.
The Scripture says a gentle tongue brings healing. Most times it isn’t all about your thoughts but verbalizing it makes you a healer. Don’t try to reason out your healing words or withhold it. Don’t ignore what you feel on the inside.
Everybody has a couple of what they are going through no matter how they look on the outside. We seem not to understand the power of a simple compliment. Your words may seem ordinary to you but when God breathes on them, they become extraordinary to the other person.
Proverb 18 says our words can be a life giving water which means people are thirsty. Nobody is in your life by accident. Nothing is more rewarding than to help some else rise higher. Start with your family. Don’t let a stranger compliment your spouse more than you do. Don’t let others make your children feel more special than you do. Call out their seed of greatness through words of encouragement. Words like, l am blessed to have you should be spoken a lot.
Some people are like clouds when they disappear, it is a new day. They nag a lot and find fault in everything, words of encouragement is far from their tongue. Let people be glad that you are around them and not the other way round. Everyone needs encouragement. Everyone needs someone to cheer them on. Compliment is the glue that holds relationship together. One compliment can have a impact for a life time. Don’t withhold your compliment, it could be what motivates people to do more.
Joel Osteen Sermon : How Bad Do You Want It
The dreams and promises God made with you are not going to come true without oppositions, delay and opportunities to lose your passion for it. But if you are going to reach your destiny, you have make up your mind. If you give up, what that really means is that you did not want it bad enough.
You can’t be passive and then indifferent, you need to have wholly determination. It is more than just your will, you have to have a fire inside knowing that it is supposed to be yours. Have the attitude of not quitting and not settling for less. You should know that there is greatness in you.
How bad do you want what God has placed in your heart? Bad enough to lash out oppositions? Do you want it bad enough even if circumstances keep saying it is not going to happen? The difficulties we face are just test. Test to see how bad we really want it. You have to be more determined than the oppositions.
If you want to see what you have been willing for, you have to do what others won’t do. When the odds are against you, you have to want it on a new level. You have to stand out in the crowd if you want it bad enough. The Scriptures says Daniel distinguished himself so that he was so excellent in his work that he stood out among other men. He was willing to do what others wouldn’t do. There are much levels right in front of us but all of it depends on how bad we want it.
God is not going to do everything for us, we have to do our parts. If you roll away the stone, then God will do what you are asking. God is not going to free you until you roll away the stone. If you are not willing to do the natural, he will not be able to do the supernatural.
Your destiny is too important to spend it with people that are not making you better. Who are you allowing to influence you? You don’t have time to waste with people that bring out the worst in you. Life is flying by. What if you miss your destiny? You are destined to leave your mark. You weren’t created to fit in. You were created to stand out. Do your part and distinguish yourself. The pain of discipline is less than the pain of regret. One of the saddest thing is to come to the end of life and wonder what I could have become. It is not too late to become who God has created you to be.
The difference between a dream and a wish is you hope it happens but for dreams, you put actions to validate it. Wishes won’t get you anywhere. If you are not hungry after anything, you are not going to be filled. You can not make a person hungry because it has to come from within. You have to be ruthless when it comes to what God has placed in your heart. Quit telling yourself it is too hard. What God kept in you is worth fighting for. It is worth being uncomfortable for a season to achieve it.
You can do whatever you want but the question is how big is your want? When you make up your mind to do something, God will breathe on your effort and give you strength that goes beyond your ability. But it kicks in when God sees you are doing all you can do. God is saying it is in you but you have to dig deep and pull out the effort. It may not be easy but your destiny is calling.
Joel Osteen Sermon : The God Who Exceeds Expectations
Everyone has things they are believing for and dreams to come to pass, problems to turn around of which they will be happy if they turn our way but sometimes what we have in mind is not God’s best because we think ordinary and God thinks extraordinary. We ask for the possible when God wants to do the impossible. He specialises in exceeding our expectations. What He has in store for us is bigger, more rewarding and fulfilling than we can imagine.
Just as the book of Ephesians says God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above what we can ask or imagine. God can make things happen that you didn’t see coming. God has this “I never dreamed blessings” in store for us. Nothing stops our God and He controls the universe. One touch of His favour will catapult you where you couldn’t go on your own. God is so merciful even when we don’t have the faith and even when we think we have reached our limit, God says that’s okay, I am going to show you favour inspite of that. God knows that there will be times we won’t have the faith needed to reach our destinies which is the reason why He said if we have faith like that of the mustard seed nothing is impossible meaning that He will show up and exceed our expectations. God shows up and do the extraordinary. God loves you too much to let you miss your destiny.
It may seem like an ordinary year and everything looks routine but God is about to show up into something unusual and something you have not seen before. It is going to cause people to look at you in astonishment. God is going to make you an example of His goodness because when He exceeds your expectations, people are going to notice and see the favour on you and over your life. If you think God can’t exceed your expectations, just look around to see all the exceeded expectations. His idea of abundance is more than we can ask or think. God doesn’t want you to stay at the same level of your parents. He wants you to set a standard. He wants to exceed your expectations in greater ways than how you were raised. Sooner or later you are going to come into this exceeding expectation so you have to put your faith up there and put it to work. You can’t have faith if you don’t first have hope. You have to give God something to work with.
God has it all figured out. He knows what you are going to need, who you are going to need and He is lining up the right place and people. He is directing your steps. Even if you don’t believe it, God is still going to do it. He is going to override the doubt because that is the kind of God we serve. Just because you gave up doesn’t mean God is giving up. God is not finished being good to you but He is going to visit you again. Stay encouraged because God is going to bring you out better than before. He is about to show out in your life.
Joel Osteen Sermon : Under Construction
You have to see the things that are messy in your life as you are undergoing construction. It doesn’t mean it is not going to work because it is a process. You can’t become all you want to be without the messy situations. To a normal person, a construction site will look disorganised and messy but to architects, it is no big deal. This is because they drew the plans and know exactly where the process is going. The architect of our lives is God and what He starts, He brings to conclusion.
The accuser may come to say that you have made so many mistakes and you have so many flaws. Just remind him and say I am under construction and God is not finished with me. Paul said you are a masterpiece. So when you feel like your life is disorganised or messy, always remember that you are a masterpiece in making, God is still working on you and you are growing. You are coming up higher and God will always finish every work He starts.
You have to look beyond the mess and see the masterpiece. The messy places are all part of the process. The worst mistake we can make is to go through life against ourselves. You have enough people and circumstances against you, don’t be against yourself. You have to be at peace with undergoing construction.
The difference between what people see and what God sees is that God has the plans. God sees where our situation is heading. Jesus didn’t choose Peter because he was perfect, He chose him because he was the blueprint. Peter was an unfinished project, even though he was a mess. Let God make you and mould you. Don’t let the mess become permanent, keep growing and resist temptations.
Every time you do the right thing, the next time it becomes easier. There is nothing wrong with being under construction but there is something wrong with not making progress. When we feel like nothing is working out, God is working on our foundation. The higher the building, the deeper and stronger the foundation has to be. Don’t be discouraged when things are not working on your time-table. God knows what to do, keep passing the test. God will not release what He has for you until He knows you can handle it. It won’t be a blessing if He gave it to you when you weren’t ready. Don’t fight the foundation work.
God allows somethings to happen because it is a temporary part of the process. When He is done using it, He will remove it. Trust God when you are under construction and in messy places. Sometimes He has to take us backward to move us forward. If you stay in faith, you will see how it will work for your good. God likes to do things that defy norms and things that seem impossible. That way He gets all the credit. What God has ordained for your life cannot be stopped by any kind of opposition. What God has in plan for you does not end in defeat, failure and mediocrity. It always end in all is well. When you are going through messy situations, God is saying “it is not over, it is all part of my plan”. If you are going through construction, God wouldn’t have allowed it, if it was going to keep you from your destiny. It is all part of the process.
Joel Osteen Sermon : Protect Your Peace
You should get up each morning believing for a good day with God directing your steps but we should also realise that everything will not go perfect and not everybody will treat you right. If you are only going to enjoy your day if your plans work out then you are setting yourself up for disappointment. You need to make provision in case things don’t go your way.
You have to make the decision at the start of the day that no matter what comes against you, you are not going to get upset, sour or offended. Make up your mind to stay in peace. The people in your life as good as they are, there are not perfect people. Give people room to be human. Quit expecting them to perform perfectly all the time. Don’t have unrealistic expectations. Your happiness is not someone else’s responsibility, you are responsible for your own happiness. Don’t count on people to feel good about yourself or feel happy because that is putting much pressure on the people in your life. Let them off the hook.
Don’t go to people for only what God can give. Life is too short to live offended, discouraged or upset. Today is a gift from God because you are not always going to be here. It dishonours God to go around discouraged, upset and offended. He trusted you with life, handpicked you and created you in His own image. He planned out your days and crowned you with favour and directing your steps.
Don’t get stuck in the potholes of life. Shake off the offences. You can’t control what other people do but you can control what you do. You give away your power if you let them get to you and control you. There may be people you see everyday with the gift of getting on your nerves, they feel it is their calling to make you miserable but the good news is that you are in control. They can’t make you unhappy or frustrated unless you allow them to because it is your choice.
You have to be selective in choosing the battle you fight. You are not supposed to engage in every conflict. If that battle is not between you and your God-given destiny, ignore it. Most of the things that come against us are simply distractions. Choose your battle wisely. If you make the mistake of engaging in every battle, you won’t get the time to fight the battles that do matter. Proverbs say avoiding a fight is mark of honour. It doesn’t mean you are weak.
Don’t fight ever fight battles with small minded people or jealous people. If you engage in those conflict, it may hinder you from becoming who you were created to be. To fulfil purpose, you have to be good at ignoring things. Your assignment is too important to be distracted by small minded or jealous people. Everywhere you go, you have to stay in peace because when you are in peace, you are in a position of power.
Joel Osteen Sermon : Seasons of Silence
We all go through times when it doesn’t seem like we are making progress, we are praying but it doesn’t seem like our prayers are getting answers or doing our best but not getting good grades. It seems like God went on vacation but the silence is not a sign that God is not working. He may not be changing the circumstances but He is changing us. God uses the seasons of silence to get us prepared.
You may be doing the right thing but feel overlooked, undervalued or forgotten. These times of isolation when you are not being celebrated are extremely valuable. Nothing may be changing on the outside but something is happening on the inside. During your seasons of silence, your character is being developed, you gain experience, maturity and strength to go where God is taking you and learn not to depend on people.
Don’t complain about the silence because God does His greatest work in isolation where nobody is noticing you. There are things you will learn in enmity that you can’t learn anywhere else. Silence is not a sign that God has forgotten about you, it is just the opposite. It is a sign that He is closely watching you. He is getting you prepared for new levels and if He brought you out before you were ready, it would stop your purpose. God loves you so much that at times He will hide you and cause you to be overlooked or cause the door not to open.
You can be talented, anointed or gifted but yet hidden. If you don’t understand that it is God hiding you, you will be frustrated and try to make things happen out of God’s timing. Don’t compare your life to other people’s. It may seem like they have it better or gone farther along or they don’t have the challenges you do. “Run your race”. God’s purpose for your life is not the same as theirs. Stay focused on your calling. As long as you compare, you will be frustrated because you will always find someone that looks like they have it better than you.
You are not off-course or fallen behind but you are in a time of preparation, training and God is getting you ready for what He has in store for you. When God brings you out, He will catapult you forward. You are like a precious jewellery kept hidden for the appointed time to be used. You are hidden because you are a masterpiece. It is all part of the process. Use your seasons of silence to get closer to God, learn to talk to God, develop a deeper relationship with God not just a Sunday morning God but all through the day in your thoughts. You may be hidden but God will always have the right people there to help keep you going.
It is a season of silence not a lifetime of silence because God didn’t create you to stay hidden. Don’t be frustrated because you are hidden. Jesus was hidden, Elijah was hidden and even David was hidden. Jesus couldn’t be crowned before the cross. Embrace the silence and don’t fight it. God is about to launch you.
Joel Osteen Sermon : Miracle Out of Mistake
It is easy to live in regret thinking that God is not going to help us because we were the ones who messed up. But here is the good news, God knew you will mess up before He called you. He knew we would get off-course at times or give in to temptations. He didn’t make His plans for your life on you making perfect decisions. God has a plan even for your mistakes.
God has a plan for making miracles out of mistakes. God knows how to turnaround that failure to something that will help move you towards your destiny. God is full of mercy. He doesn’t turn His back when we make mistakes. He doesn’t only help you clean up the mess you made but also make miracles out of those mistakes. All things work together for good when you love the Lord. All things including our mistakes.
Things may seem so complex and messed up but God has it all figured out. His ways are better than our ways. When you can’t pray away the storm and wind, it is because you are the one causing the trouble. When you are running from the Lord, you are running from your destiny.
Our decisions don’t just affect us, they affect our family. If you don’t do the right thing fir yourself, at least do it for your children. The first step to victory is finding the source of the problem. You can’t get away from God. God’s calling for your life is irrevocable. God is not going to change His mind because you got off-course. He is not going to leave you alone until you get right back on track.
God may allow anything to get our attention. God is not going to change His mind, He will give you all the chances He can until we get back up. At some point, you have to take the responsibility like Jonah. God is not asking you to be perfect. He is asking us to deal with the things holding us back.
Quit beating yourself up and reliving in your failures. Get back on the right track. It is not too late. God’s mercy is bigger than any mistake. Even with your mistakes, you can still fulfil God’s plan for your life. God is not going to turn His back on you. Even when you make mistakes, God has recalculated your rounds. He already has a new way to get you to your destination. He is not finished with you.
Joel Osteen Sermon : How to Change Thoughts Before Changing Life
There is tremendous power in our thoughts. Our thoughts determine our actions, moods, self image, the words we speak and our destiny. If we have a messed up thinking, then we are going to live a messed up life. Your life is going to follow your thought.
You have got to change your thinking before you can change your life. We attract what we constantly think about. Just as the Scriptures say in Proverbs that as a person thinks in his heart, so he will become. The enemy knows the power of our thoughts and that is why the area he works in is the area of our mind. He is aware that your life falls in line with your thought. This is the reason why he plants negative seeds in your thought.
You can choose your thought but the first thing to do is recognise where that thought is coming from. Get rid of negative thought immediately. The only thing that limits God is our negative thoughts. You’ve got to start believing what God thinks of you. His thought will fill you with faith and victory. It will build you up and give you the strength you need.
We have to choose to dwell on the positive. The negative will always be around us but we have to choose to dwell on the positive and right thoughts. Choose to think the right thought. We should not just dwell on every thought that comes to our mind. You control your thoughts.
Keep your mind in the right place and focus on the things of God. Then God will keep you in perfect peace. Learn how to think the right thought. Check up on what you are thinking about and the direction of your thought, then start dwelling on the solution. You’ve got to stay in the attitude of faith. We never get to a place where we are done with dealing with the enemies seed of negative thought but as soon as we learn to guard our minds, the better of we are going to be.
Joel Osteen Sermon : Ask Big
When God laid the plan for your life, He didn’t just put what you need to get by, to survive or endure. He put more than enough. He is the God of abundance. He is also a more than enough God. God wants you to have in abundance so that you can be a blessing to people that surrounds you.
Don’t have a slave mentality or a limited mind-set. You were created to reign in life. Dare to ask big and for what God promised you. Don’t ask God to make you function better in your dysfunction. Ask for your dreams and for new levels, for explosive blessings and to propel you into your purpose. God already placed abundance in your future. You will miss the fullness of your destiny if you go through life only praying the get by prayers. How you answer the question which God ask you about what you want Him to do for you is going have a great impact on what God does.
Ask to be the difference maker and ask to set a new standard. Jabez also asked big despite the circumstances that surrounded him. People don’t determine your destiny, God does. God is for you. He can thrust you further than you can imagine. Ask inspite of what the circumstances look like, what people are telling you or the enemy is whispering in your ears. If you are going to stand up in the crowd and reach your highest potential, you have to learn the principle to ask big. Psalms 2 in Message Translation shows that God wants you to think big and ask big. Ask something out of the ordinary and don’t hold back.
You are not inconveniencing God by asking for something big. You are the apple of God’s eye and His most priced possession. Stepping up to who you were created to be gives God pleasure. God doesn’t have a problem giving you influence, fame, power, wealth and honour as long as your dream is somewhat connected to helping others, making this world a better place and to advance God’s kingdom. There is no limit to what God would do for you if you use what He’s given you to help others.
Joel Osteen Sermon : Drop It
We all have negative things that has happened to us. It is easy to go through life offended, in self-pity or blaming others. We end up carrying all these garbage weighing us down. One of the best things we are meant to do is to drop it and let it go. You won’t live a victorious life if you are always reliving what didn’t work out. The reason it is called the past is because it is over, it is done and it is history. Do your part and let it go.
If anyone hurt you once, don’t let them continue to hurt you by always thinking about it. It will keep you from the new things God want to do. Move forward. There is a new beginning in front of you. God will not release new opportunities as long as we are holding unto old hurt. Everything you’ve gone through has deposited something on the inside.
You are not defined by your past, you are prepared by your past. If it had not happened, you may not be prepared for the new level coming your way. There is a saying that you can be pitiful, you can be powerful but you can not be both. You can’t do anything about yesterday. The Scriptures says where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. Quit living in what was and come over to what is. Living in regret doesn’t do anything productive, it only keeps one in mediocrity. You may be a product of your past but you don’t have to be a prisoner of your past.
The good news is that for every setback, God has already arranged a comeback. Keep moving knowing that your best days are still ahead. Paul in Philippians says to focus all your energy on this one thing forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead. How to drop it is by not talking about it and is to stop thinking about it. Drop it, bury it, have a funeral for it and put it away once and for all to get free. Don’t waste another minute being bitter.
Joel Osteen Sermon : Victory Begins In The Dark
In the book of Genesis, it was stated that God started day in the dark. At 12:00am, nothing looks any different. If you didn’t have a watch or clock with you, you won’t know it is a new day. When the clock strikes at 12:00am, the time goes from pm to am even if nothing looks different at that point. You can’t see it but you know it’s past midnight and that’s what faith is all about. You’ve gone from pm to am .
Yes it is dark outside but it is past midnight. It is just a matter of time before you see the light breaking forth. Don’t be discouraged by the dark. The dark doesn’t mean nothing has changed. You have to work by faith and not by sight. If you work by sight, you will talk yourself out of it because when it is midnight, there is no evidence that it is a new day.
The Psalmist say the moment you pray, the tide of the battle turns. The moment you pray, you have gone from pm to am. You may not see any sign of it but it is a new day. Victory begins in the dark. We all go through seasons where it feels like nothing is changing, the fact is light is on the way.
God being for you is more than the world being against you. There is no obstacle He can’t move. Make sure you call put to God in your days of distress. It may be dark in your life now, but don’t let the dark fool you. It is a new day and the sun is about to break forth. Do your part by praising and thanking God that things are changing in your favour. After midnight, light seeps in.
What if the darkness you are going through is not the darkness of doom but the darkness of room that proceeds God’s work for your life. Get your hopes up like Job. Keep on thanking God. In the unseen realm, things are changing and you are going to know it is His doing. What you are dealing with will not last long. The sun will come up sooner than you think. You are about to be restored just like Job.
Joel Osteen Sermon : Hearing In Your Spirit
God doesn’t speak to us out loud. Many times He speaks to us through our spirits. Many times, our spirits contradict what we see with our eyes. God calls you what you are before it happens.
You will hear things in your spirit that don’t make sense to your mind. Quit being discouraged by what you see, be encouraged by what you hear. The Scripture says the things we see are only temporary. What we hear and what God speaks to us is permanent. The things we see are subjected to change. God has the final say. He said the path of the righteous will get brighter and brighter.
God will put things in your spirit that seems hard to accomplish. He speaks to your spirit about what is coming. The question is whose report are you going to believe? Your eyes or what you heard in your spirit? God is about to exceed your expectations, get ready. What you heard is on the way. Stay encouraged it is coming. If you believe what you hear in your spirit, it will override what you hear in the natural.
When you believe God’s word, you will become what He has set out for you to be. Believe the report of the Lord, healing and freedom is coming. What you hear will override what you see. Just because people don’t believe doesn’t mean it is not going to happen. The enemy only knows what he hears you say, so be careful of what you let come out of your mouth. Stop giving the enemy way too much information.
God put things in our spirits as seeds. If we are negative about it, it will never take root. You don’t have to figure out how it will happen, all you have to do is believe God. When people are not for you, don’t get discouraged, it is okay. Don’t let their doubt keep you from what you’ve heard. The things God kept in your spirit are not going to make sense to other people. It is not their fault because they did not hear what you heard.
If you need them to fulfil your purpose, then they would have agreed with you. Don’t let them talk you out of what you have heard. The enemy will use people sometimes the ones you love to plant doubt and negativity. Don’t be upset by the nay sayers. They can’t stop your destiny.
Joel Osteen Sermon : Tell Yourself A New Story
We all have a story of how we see ourselves and our future. It comes from how we were raised and what people have said. For some people, their story is negative. We are being limited by what we tell ourselves and how we see our circumstances. The story we have written will override what anyone says. It is even more powerful than facts.
God has already written your story before you were born. The key is to get your story in line with His. The enemy will love to alter your story and rewrite what God said about you. You need to take out your pen, cross out all those bad part and tell yourself a new story. Don’t let circumstances convince you to live with the wrong story. Don’t let someone else be the writer of your story. Go back to the one who has written your story.
When you get your story in line with what God has spoken about you, things will work out for good. God, the Creator of the universe is the author of your story. You are not doing life on your own. Go back to what He said about you.
Overtime, life tries to rewrite our story and we end up settling for so much less than God has for us. Pay attention to the story you are telling yourself. Go back to what God kept in your heart. He wants you to dream again and love again. Don’t let the wrong story limit your destiny. Tell yourself a new story and delete that old story. Get yourself away from that limited thinking.
Don’t develop poor mind-set, God has more for you. Let your attitude be I am destined to do great things. Don’t let other people put their story on you. Don’t let their limited vision keep you from rising higher. You may have a good reason to tell yourself a negative story but say no. Give God something to work with. God won’t let you in a problem that He can’t bring you out of.
The story you need to tell yourself is God breathed His life into you. You are God’s masterpiece. You can’t reach your destiny discounting yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself, it is going to limit your life. Make sure your story is in line with His and it will come to pass.
Joel Osteen Sermon :Trusting God To Do It His Way
We all have dreams we believe God for but too often we put God in a box by telling Him how to do it, when to do it and who to use to do it. The only problem is God’s ways are not our ways. God doesn’t always do things the logical way, He uses unorthodox method. If you have preconceived ideas on things, it will limit what God can do. You have to stay open.
Let God out of your box. You get discouraged when your preconceived idea doesn’t work. God closes some doors on purpose because He has something so much better in front of you. Just because it is the logical way doesn’t mean it is God’s way. If you are narrow minded, you can miss God’s best. God can use the enemy to take care of His children. He can do whatever He wants to do.
Don’t put God in a box and miss your miracle. Sometimes God is answering our prayers but it is not just the way we expected. You have stay opened unto how God answers prayer. It may not be the way you had planned, God may not use the people you were expecting and it may not happen on your time-table but that is what faith is all about.
There were many different methods Jesus used while healing people and performing miracles. Jesus sometimes use unconventional method. Be open for God to use new methods to bring your dreams to pass. One reason why God does it His way and not our ways is so that He would get all the credit. God’s plan for your life will not always be logical, reasonable or what you have planned but if you stay opened, it will be much bigger, better and more rewarding than you have ever imagined.
God has a thousand ways of doing things so quit being frustrated because it didn’t work out your way. Put that dream on the altar and trust Him to do it His way. It may not make sense but one day, you will see what God was doing.
Ease is Coming : Sermon by Joel Osteen
We all go through seasons of struggle but too often we get discouraged and think that is just the way life is. There will be seasons when you have to stand strong and fight the good fight of faith. Matthew 11 tells us that the kingdom of God suffers violence and you have to take it by force. There will be times of struggle, pressure and difficulty but don’t get discouraged because you are going to come into an anointing of ease.
When you come into the ease, what was once was a struggle won’t be a struggle anymore. You are going to have a supernatural grace of favour that will lighten the load and take the pressure off. God is going to make your life easier. God is going to smooth things out and you will come into the season when things are going to fall in place.
The mind-set of focusing on your obstacles and struggles doesn’t only steal your joy but also keeping you from seeing God’s favour. Get your mind going the right direction. Quit telling yourself this is so hard and that you will never accomplish that dream. This is a new day and you are going to have the strength that you have not had before.
God didn’t create you to struggle your whole life. God is going to take you in the overflow. When you keep doing the right thing, you are going to come into the anointing of ease. Some of the things you are worried about is going to work out with ease. God controls the universe and He know how to get what is yours into your hands.
The Philistines couldn’t keep the Israelites’ ark of covenant because it made them miserable which shows that nobody can keep what belongs to you. You are God’s property. God can give you victory without you having to fight. It is going to happen because the Most High God is going to breathe in your direction.
You may be going through some struggles but that is not your permanent home. You are coming in to the anointing of ease and see things fall into place. You will know it is the goodness and hand of God.
Odds Are For You : Sermon by Joel Osteen
It is easy to go through life thinking of all the reasons why we can’t be successful. We look at our situation in the natural and think why the odds are against us. As long as you think the odds are against you, you get stuck as you are. You have the most powerful source in the universe breathing in your direction.
God wouldn’t have allowed that difficulty if He wasn’t going to turn it around and use it to your advantage. The odd may be against you but the Most High God is for you. Your circumstances may look complicated but the God that does impossible is working behind the scene. Since God is for you, that means the odds are for you.
God put the odds there so that when He turns it around, nobody gets the credit except Him. God wants to give you victory so people can know He is on your side. Sometimes, God will let the odd grow greater that you don’t see a way out. Then suddenly, He will step in and make things happen that you could never make happen.
Don’t let the odds fool you. Don’t let the fact that you don’t see a way of getting out of it. Get ready this is a set up. Don’t give up. This is the time to move your faith up. If you stay in faith, you are going to become a testimony. Just like Lazarus, the odds looked impossible when he died. Sometimes God will wait on purpose till the odds are way against us. God’s ways are not our ways. God had something better in mind which was a resurrection.
God is totally for you. He has not brought you this far to leave you. Dare to trust Him. He has you in the palm of His hand. The odds do not determine what He can and cannot do. Sometimes, God will let the odds be bigger so your critics, neighbours, co-workers won’t be able to deny what God has done. The odds don’t always happen the way we think. God knows what’s best but if you let the odds talk you out of believing, then you will miss the fullness of your destiny.
God speaks and it becomes your destiny just like He spoke words into creation. He can take nothing and make it something magnificent. Imagine what He can do with you. You are His priced possession. You have the DNA of the Almighty God. Don’t let the odd discourage you. God has the right people already lined up and things are about to change for your favour.
Joel Ostten Sermon :The Healing Power of Laughter
There are a lot of people sick in our world simply because we don’t have the joy that we should. Living uptight and on the edge causes headache. One of the greatest stress reliever God has given us is laughter. Laughter is like a medicine. It does not only make one feel better but also releases healing through one’s system.
When we laugh, it restores and rejuvenate what the pressures of life has taken out. Most people don’t laugh the way they should. Some are too stressed to have any fun, life is not supposed to be all work and no play. You need to develop your sense of humour. You can train yourself to laugh.
An average adult only laugh four times a day. We have allowed the pressures of life, stress and work to steal our joy. Don’t ever lose the child that is on the inside. You need to know how to work but you also need to know how to play. It is healthy to have fun. The opposite of play is not work, it is depression.
Laughter reduces blood pressure and triggers the right side of the brain which increases creativity. Laughter helps to calm down and sleep better. Many people have insomnia, maybe they need to laugh often. Enjoy the life God has given us. Most of the sickness in our world today is related to sadness. There is a healing power we are not tapping into.
Everyday at least three times, find something funny that makes you laugh out loud. Don’t laugh on the inside. Release that joy out loud. Every time you laugh, it boost your immune system.
Laugh helps straighten relationships. It is great to have laughter in your home. One thing the enemy cannot stand is the sound of you laughing. A family that can laugh together is a family that will stay together. Keep tour home fun.
When you are full of joy, it draws people to you. The more difficult it is, the more we need to activate our joy. The more pressure, the more we need to look for opportunities to laugh. Laugh in tough time because that is when it is easier to lose your joy and when you lose your joy, you lose your strength. When you don’t have strength, you are likely to get defeated. God has already recorded the victory in your favour, laugh in faith. Always find reasons to laugh.
Pastor Joel Osteen Sermon: Your Words Become Your Reality
You are where you are today because of what you have been saying about yourself. Words are like seeds, when you speak something out, you give life to what you are saying. If you continue to say it, eventually that can become a reality. Whether you like it or not, you are prophesying your future.
Your life will move in the direction of your words. Some prophesy defeat. The Scripture says we will eat the fruits of our words. You are planting seeds when you talk and at some point, you are going to eat that fruit. Make sure you are planting the right kind of seeds. You are going to reap fruits from the exact seeds you have been sowing. In other words, you can’t talk negative and expect to live a positive life.
The book of James tells us that with our tongues, we can bless our lives or curse our lives. Don’t speak defeat over your future. Proverbs says we are snared by the words of our mouths. Don’t use your words to describe the situation, use your words to change the situation. The negative thoughts would come, the key is not to say them.
A thought will die a stillborn if you don’t speak it. Don’t get trapped by your words. It is one thing to think it is impossible but when you start telling people it is impossible, it takes a whole meaning.
When you verbalize that thought, you are giving it right to come to pass. Choose the voice of faith and not the negative voice. Negative words can keep you from becoming who you were created to be. Prophesy victory over your life. Don’t talk about the mountain, talk to the mountain.
It is not enough to pray about those dead situations in your life, God is asking you to speak to it. Declare the decree. Write down your goals and what you want to see happen in life like it is already done and everyday, declare the decree and read over it a couple of times out loud.
If you keep speaking and prophesying those positive words, they would get on the inside of you and instead of being trapped by words, you will be propelled by your words. If you get your words going in the right direction, your life would go in the right direction. Don’t curse your future, bless your future.
Recognizing Your Value by Pastor Joel Osteen
Too often we build our value on how someone is treating us, how successful we are. The problem is all of these can change so stop placing your value on your performance. Your value should be solely on the fact that you are a child of the Most High God. The Creator of the universe breathed His life into you. How someone treats you doesn’t change your value or what they say or do doesn’t lessen who you are. Your mistake doesn’t decrease your value. Your success increases your net worth not your self-worth. It shows your influence not your value. Your value comes from your creator.
You have royalty in your blood so the enemy works overtime trying to devalue us. When you are trying to prove to someone who you are, it never ends. As soon as you prove to the first person, you meet another to impress. Get off that treadmill.
Influential friends and more clothes doesn’t change your value. If you base your value on people’s support, how much they approve you, encourage you and for some reason they stop doing that, you are going to feel devalued. You can’t base your value on what people give you because they are unstable. If you don’t know who you are without them, when they leave you will be lost because your identity is caught up in what they made you to be.
You don’t need people to tell you what you are because they will let you down. Let your heavenly father tell you who you are. Get your value, self-worth and approval from Him. He calls you His masterpiece and a priced possession. When you base your value on what God says about you, it is going to lift you up. It is only God’s approval that matters.
Sometimes, the people closest to you can’t see the greatness in you. Just keep being your best. Sometimes when family and friends neglect us, it is God teaching us to go to Him and not people. Don’t think too much of what people think. You are not a copy or a knockoff, you are an original.
When you don’t know who you are, you discount yourself. Don’t go around feeling ordinary when in fact you are extraordinary. You may feel ordinary, average or feel nothing special about you but because of who you belong to, that makes you extremely valuable. Don’t let people discount you and don’t let your own thoughts push you down or hold you back. You belong to God and you are amazing.
