Today’s Scripture
[Let us also be full of joy now!]
Romans 5:3, AMPC
Today’s Word
The Scripture records the heroes of faith doing amazing things, but those may have been one day, or one week, or one year of their life. What about the other years? As with them, we have to learn to enjoy the journey, which means to find joy in the small things of your everyday life. It’s taking time to laugh with your children, taking a walk with your spouse, seeing the sunrise in the morning, hearing the birds sing. It’s the simple things in life that bring the most joy. You may not have a lot of resources, but if you have family, you’re wealthy. If you have your health, you’re wealthy. If you can look up at the stars at night, you’re wealthy. It’s not whether you have a lot or a little; it’s about whether you are finding joy in the journey. Don’t put your joy on hold for the next big event. The apostle Paul says to be full of joy now—not tomorrow, not when you reach the goal, not when the problem turns around. Today is the time.
Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You that though I face challenges and obstacles today, I can still walk in the fullness of joy. Thank You that no matter what happens to me, I can find joy every day in the simple things You provide. I receive Your joy today. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
