I Won’t Let Go Until You Bless Me

After reading the Bible, I’ve come to understand that letting go (“letting go and letting God”) is a popular Christian teaching or phrase. The concept is to let go and let God take over; surrender our lives completely over to Him, control everything He wants us to control, and let Him do the rest. Most people understand that Jesus is Lord and Savior and the only way to Heaven, but many Christians still don’t understand what it means to “release” or “let go”. This is not easy for many people because they love their possessions more than they love Jesus Christ. It also has nothing to do with money or material things – it’s about your life being in His hands 100%.

I Won’t Let Go Until You Bless Me

I won’t let go until you bless me.

I won’t let go until you bless me.

I won’t let go until you bless me.

Part 6: My flesh still doesn’t get it

The flesh, or the old self, is still present even after you are saved. The flesh is the old man who wants to do his own thing and have it his way.

The Bible says in 1 John 2:16-17:

“For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. And this world is passing away along with its desires.”

Part 5: Gethsemane – “Could you please watch with Me?”

Jesus was very tired and He was sad. He asked His disciples to watch with Him.

Jesus knew that this was the time for Him to die, but He also knew that God would bring about a great victory over sin through His death on the cross. Even though He was sorrowful, Jesus did not fear those who were going to kill Him because he trusted in God’s plan for salvation (John 12:27).

Jesus fell asleep as He prayed; he knew that his death had been planned from before creation (John 17:24).

Part 4: The Sabbath, God’s rest

  • God rested on the seventh day. God didn’t have to rest, but he did it for us.
  • God’s rest is a rest from our own works, sin, righteousness and strength. In order to get this kind of rest in our lives we must lay aside all that we are doing in order to enjoy his goodness and grace.

Part 3: The Cross – The Sweetest Thing

The cross is the sweetest thing. It’s the only way to Heaven, and Jesus died for us.

Jesus said He came not to be served, but to serve; and if you want to know why He did that, it’s because He loves us so much!

Part 2: The Word of God is A Two-Edged Sword

The Word of God is a two-edged sword cutting through the lies, darkness, and deception of this world. It is sharper than any two-edged sword. The Word of God penetrates to our innermost being and reveals our hearts and thoughts (Hebrews 4:12). The Word of God is also a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105).

  • Letting go of your possessions – When you accept Christ as Savior you are given eternal life (John 3:16). Everything else must be secondary because we cannot serve two masters at once (Matthew 6:24). If you don’t know who your real master is then something’s wrong!

Conclusion

When we learn how to let go, we will be better able to love our friends and family. This is a crucial step towards building true Christian relationships with others who are searching for answers in life, but may not know where or how to find them yet. When we learn how to let go ourselves – when we truly surrender our hearts and minds completely over to Him – then He can work through us more fully without interference from our human desires.
