I Need Thee Scripture

As a child of God, you have access to the same spiritual tools and resources that Jesus Christ did. You can use these tools to change your life and the lives of others. If you need help in making this happen, simply ask: “Father in Heaven, what is it that You want me to do?” Then listen carefully for an answer. In most cases, the Lord will respond by giving you a scripture or another resource that will help guide your thoughts and actions toward greater righteousness.

I Need Thee Scripture

2 Nephi 9:7

  • We need God’s word.
  • We need God’s help.
  • We need God’s guidance.
  • We need God’s power.
  • We need God’s strength.
  • We need God’s direction.
  • We need God’s wisdom, knowledge, and understanding!

Psalms 71:18

Psalms 71:18

I will praise thee with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.

I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.

1 Nephi 3:17

In 1 Nephi 3:17, Nephi says, “I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.” This verse tells us how to become like God. We must follow His commandments, and He will provide a way so that we can be successful at it!

In other words, if you want to be like your Father in Heaven, then you need to follow His example and do what He tells you to do. By doing this consistently throughout your life—and not just once or twice—you will eventually become like Him!

Moses 7:33

When you read this scripture, what do you see?

I see two things: God’s plan and His love. In the first verse, God says that He will bring us to Himself. And in the second verse He says that He will receive us back again. The Lord wants to bring us home so much that He sent His Son to die for us so that we can be saved from our sins (1 Corinthians 15:1-3).

D&C 32:3

D&C 32:3

“Behold, I am God; Man of Holiness is my name; the Firstborn before all nations, and made known to all peoples, in order that I [might] have a righteous cause when I come into the world to be judged.”

3 Nephi 27:20

3 Nephi 27:20

“And ye are the children of the Lord your God; and ye are of his kingdom, and heirs according to the flesh.”

This verse teaches us that we are all children of God, and that through Christ we can be heirs with Him (see Galatians 4:5–6). This scripture also teaches us that we have a responsibility to be good citizens in His kingdom (see 3 Nephi 27:25).

Alma 34:37

Alma 34:37

The Lord will help you.

The Lord will never leave you.

The Lord will always be with you, even to the end of this world; and then unto the end of the next world, where all is one eternal round of intelligence, happiness and knowledge in God.

2 Nephi 26:14

2 Nephi 26:14 reads, “Arise from the dust, O Jerusalem; yea, arise ye that are bound down with heavy burdens; and arise ye that are afflicted.”

The first part of this verse is an invitation to all who are weighed down by their burden—to all who feel like they have been “bound down” in some way. The second part of the verse is an invitation for those who have been afflicted or downtrodden by life’s struggles to rise up and take action. It asks us to stand up and make things better for ourselves. We can do it! We may feel like we are alone or that no one cares about our problems or issues but we need only look toward God for help because He has already provided what we need right here in these very words!

Ether 12:4`

I am a child of God.

I am his son and his daughter, and I will be that forever.

In the resurrection, I will be a son and a daughter of God forever and ever.

As we partake of the sacrament each week, let us remember that we are children of God. We are his sons and daughters in the flesh (Ether 12:4).

We are children of God.

We are children of God. We are His children. We are His children because we are His spirit children and we are His spirit children because He loves us. He loves us because He has given us all that we need to be happy and to enjoy life as much as possible on this earth, so that when our time comes, we can go back home with Him in Heaven where there will be no sadness or suffering or death ever again.

His love for each one of us is like nothing else you have ever experienced before but it is real, it is true and it lasts forever!

Conclusion

The scriptures are the words of God. They were written by prophets and apostles who lived on the earth. The words of scripture can help us to find peace and comfort in times of trouble or sorrow. They can also give us hope when life seems difficult or unfair. We need only turn to them for guidance because God will speak through their words if we pray sincerely enough for guidance from Him through His Holy Spirit
