Husbands Prayers For His Wife

As a wife, you want to pray for your husband’s faith. You want him to grow in his relationship with God and to live each day for Jesus’ glory. To help you do this, we’re sharing ten prayers you can pray for your husband today:

Husbands Prayers For His Wife

Lord, You said in Your Word that I am to love my wife as Christ loved the Church.

Lord, You said in Your Word that I am to love my wife as Christ loved the Church.

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” (1 Corinthians 13:4-5)

That means that when you ask for patience from me and I fail you by being impatient with you or your children or our dogs… I need to be humble enough to apologize and seek forgiveness from You and them. When I’m feeling jealous because someone else has something nice that we don’t have… I need to be humble enough to trust You know what’s best for us instead of giving into these selfish desires. When someone says something negative about our marriage or relationship…

I need to be humble enough to forgive them and let go of their words instead of letting them get under my skin or tear down our relationship!

Father, I commit to be a good steward of my wife’s heart.

Father, I commit to be a good steward of my wife’s heart.

I will not break her trust or cause her to question whether she is worthy of your love. I will keep the promises I have made to her and guard them with my life.

I know that these little things may seem insignificant compared to what you have done for me, but they are important because they demonstrate how much I love my wife and value her as an individual who deserves every good thing in life.

Lord, please help me to love my wife sacrificially.

Husbands, love your wives. As the Apostle Paul instructs husbands, “Love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.”

In other words, if you’d like to be a good husband—or even just a decent one—then you should take care of your wife in the same way that Jesus took care of His bride. This means that you’ll need to sacrifice yourself for her sake. If she is hungry or tired or sick or sad or afraid, then you will be there for her in those moments. You will not abandon her when things get difficult for either of you; instead, it is both your job and duty to be supportive and present through thick and thin.

Father, I ask that You would show me how to honor my wife with my words and actions.

I ask that You would show me how to honor my wife with my words and actions.

Honor her by being faithful. This means that we must be committed to each other, trusting in the Lord to keep our relationship strong and whole.

Honor her by being kind. This can mean many things, depending on your situation as a husband and wife in Christ. Sometimes it may mean asking for forgiveness from one another when you have wronged one another; other times it may mean always having grace in your heart towards each other no matter what happens throughout the day or week; still other times it may mean always being cheerful on those rough days when life gets tough and nothing seems like it’s going right for either of them! Regardless of what form kindness takes for you as a couple, always remember that showing kindness is an important part of honoring God’s creation—your wife!

I confess that there are areas in my life where I’ve been selfish and self-centered. Please forgive me for these shortcomings.

  • I confess that there are areas in my life where I’ve been selfish and self-centered. Please forgive me for these shortcomings.
  • I acknowledge that the way I have treated you has hurt you, and for this, please forgive me.
  • I acknowledge that sometimes it’s hard to show love and affection for you when we’re both so busy with work or home responsibilities, but I still want to do better at showing love and affection for you by being more thoughtful of your needs and desires.
  • When we get upset with each other over something silly or trivial, let’s apologize first before pushing the issue further because this will help us grow closer as a couple instead of pushing us apart from each other like two magnets repelling one another due to their opposite poles being pushed together too strongly against one another (which would happen if one person didn’t apologize before continuing an argument).

God, please help me to do what is best for our marriage and not what is easiest for me.

God, please help me to do what is best for our marriage and not what is easiest for me.

I know that you have a plan for my life. You have made me the person that I am and you are constantly molding me into who I will become in the future. You love me, God, so much that you sent your son Jesus Christ to die on a cross so that I could have eternal life with you in heaven after this life ends.

God has given us many gifts but none more valuable than our wives! Your gift of marriage allows us to live together as one family forevermore! We pray today that no matter what happens in the world or around us we will always be able to come home because it’s where our heart truly belongs – with each other 🙂

Jesus, help me to give up my own interests and preferences so I can serve and bless others.

Jesus, help me to give up my own interests and preferences so I can serve and bless others. Help me to be a good steward of what you have given me, so that I can be an example for others to follow.

  • Pray for him. When you pray for your husband, you are giving him the opportunity to know that you are concerned about his well-being and the things that matter most to him. It is also an excellent time for you to reflect on your own life and ask God what it is that He wants from you. He might have some great ideas!
  • Pray for your marriage. You can pray for your marriage every day if need be! You can do this at different times throughout the day, or if you’re having trouble remembering something specific to pray about, try writing down each morning what it is that’s bothering or troubling you both individually (for example: “How will I get my children ready in time?”). This way when they come home from school eager to tell their stories of how much fun they had playing outside all day long without mommy nearby – there won’t be any surprises!
