2. The Strong meat of the Word

The word of God is strong meat for those who have grown beyond milk and are ready to be nourished with solid food.

The Word of God is the sword of the Spirit, which He uses to cut off every branch in us that causes us to sin (Hebrews 4:12).

The Word of God is the word that gives life (John 6:63). The Lord Jesus said, “I am come that ye might have life, and that ye might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).

The Word of God is the truth about everything—what it means for you today, tomorrow and forever! It speaks peace to your mind when everything else around you seems confusing or chaotic; it strengthens your heart when emotions try to pull you down; it gives hope even during times when nothing seems right with the world around us;

it teaches wisdom so we may live wisely on earth as well as in heaven without compromising our integrity or losing ourselves in prideful thoughts about ourselves;

it promises redemption from all sin through His own blood shed at Calvary’s cross where He bore our sins—that same blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness if we are willing only believe this wonderful message!

3. Christ our Happiness

  • Christ our Happiness

Christ is our happiness. It was the joy of the angels to behold the Son in Bethlehem, when He came with His train of miracles; but He was more joyful to see Mary, for she had believed and obeyed. He made her far happier than any angel could make her! If a man has Christ, he has all things needful to his salvation and comfort—all good things are in Him; there is no want or wretchedness where He dwells. The day will come when you will say that this world was but as a dream compared with your happiness in heaven; and if you have known Christ by faith here on earth, then it may be said that your present afflictions are light as compared with those future joys which await you—your sorrow here below shall be turned into eternal gladness! If a Christian knows how to endure hardness as good soldiers of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 2:3), does not their reward await them? Yes! The Lord will reward every good deed done unto Him (Matthew 6:12).

5. Thirsting for Satisfaction

God is the satisfaction of our souls, minds and bodies. He satisfies us in every area of our being. The apostle John writes that “God is love” (1 John 4:8). Love is the greatest of all needs. God satisfies this need in His people by giving them everlasting life through Jesus Christ (John 3:16). He also satisfies their hunger for righteousness by giving them His righteousness, which gives them peace with God (Romans 5:1) and hope of eternal glory (Titus 2:11-12).

6. Seeking God to the Uttermost

  • Seeking God to the Uttermost

In 1 Samuel 2:21, we read that God promised to David that he would not want for anything. David’s request was that God would give him an understanding heart (1 Sam. 13:14). He wanted to know how he could please God, and discover what He required of him in order to live righteously (1 Sam. 15:22).

7. Hungering after the Bread of life

Jesus Christ is the Bread of life. As we read in John 6:27-58, Jesus is God’s gift to humanity for eternal life. This gift is also known as the Holy Spirit and Word of God, because it takes place through Scripture, prayer and worship services (read Acts 2:42). The sacraments are another way in which God brings us His grace through material goods such as bread or wine that point us toward our spiritual need for nourishment (see John 6:35). Finally, we find ourselves hungering after this Bread when we make ourselves part of the Church—a community of people who share in one another’s lives and encourage each other on their journey toward heaven.

8. The Delight of Private Communion with God

Private communion with God is an important part of spiritual growth. It includes reading the scriptures, spending time in prayer, spending time in meditation and spending time in solitude. Private communion may also include worship and praise of God through music or song.

9. Intercession-A Gazing After God

Intercession is an act of loving others. It is a way to show our gratitude to God, and it is also an act of worship. It’s being in constant communion with God, because intercession is always seen as being in close relationship with the Father.

It’s important that you notice that this hunger for God comes out of a heart that was once cold towards Him but has now been warmed by His love and grace.

This means that you are no longer distant or merely acquainted with Him; rather, your relationship has become deep and intimate!
