How To Pray For My Wife

I’ve been married for almost 8 years to my wife, and I can’t imagine anyone else putting up with me for this long. We’ve had our ups and downs in our marriage, but we always pick ourselves back up, dust ourselves off, and start all over again. For a man like me who is weak in so many ways, I need prayer from others that God will strengthen my marriage. What do you pray for your spouse? Here are some ideas:

How To Pray For My Wife

Lord, my wife is your daughter and she loves you. The Bible says that you know the plans you have for her, Lord.

I know that my wife is a child of God and I pray that you will use her in the plans you have for her life. The Bible tells us that we should pray for our children, because they are a gift from God (Ephesians 6:1). My wife is also a blessing from God because he gave me the gift of love, which comes from him. You gave me this blessing as well. I ask that you bless us with your wisdom and guidance as we raise our children together, Lord.

Help me to be a man of integrity so that my words and actions will never cause her to doubt my love for her.

As a man of integrity, you will be the kind of husband your wife can trust. She will know that you are a man who stands for what is right and speaks the truth. She will know that her honor is safe with you because she knows that character always wins out over circumstance in your heart.

Your wife needs to see integrity in her husband as a reflection of his love for her and as an indication of how much he values her above all else.

I pray that I will always be a man of integrity in front of my children.

You might be wondering, “Praying for my wife is something I do on a daily basis. Why would I need to pray for this?”

I’m not asking you to stop praying for her; but it’s important that you make prayer a part of your daily routine, not just when things are difficult. Prayer is a fundamental virtue that must be practiced every day in order to have a positive impact on your life and the lives of others. Without integrity being part of your life, you will never achieve success as a husband or father.

Integrity means telling the truth at all times and being honest with yourself and others about everything in life—no matter how easy or difficult it may seem at first glance! This includes looking into ourselves during times when we feel like we’ve made mistakes instead of trying to justify them away so everyone else thinks better about us than what we actually deserve.”

Father, thank you for the gift of marriage and family. Thank you for your love for us. Thank you for creating us to be in relationship with others, but especially with one another as husband and wife.

Thank you for our precious children, whom we are raising up in the way they should go. We pray that they would grow up to be like Jesus—loving their wives just as Christ loved the church (Ephesians 5:25).

Thank you for our spouses who have chosen us and whom we have chosen in return. We pray that they would grow closer to Christ through following his example of sacrificial love (1 Corinthians 13:4-7).
