Dr. David wants us to understand that we are to renew continually our grace and joy from the lord daily and as frequently as possible, just like we do with our perishable foods, we buy re buy them always, thats how we should do with our spiritual life.

SCRIPTURE: The humble will be filled with fresh joy from the Lord. The poor will rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.
Isaiah 29:19, NLT.
Freshness doesn’t last very long. If you buy meat, poultry, or seafood, it should be refrigerated within a couple of hours, or it begins to spoil. Bread goes stale within a few days. A ripe apple on the counter begins to shrivel within a week.
Even our personalities become spoiled and stale if we don’t continually renew them with fresh joy, fresh grace, and fresh words from the Bible each day. We cannot live today on yesterday’s joy. We can’t borrow from tomorrow’s grace. God gives us day by day a fresh supply of all we need to remain inwardly renewed. He gives us seasons of refreshing and daily bread for our soul.
Just as the Israelites gathered manna fresh each morning, so we’re to gather spiritual nourishment from the Lord each day. The believers in Berea “searched the Scriptures daily” (Acts 17:11). Make Psalm 90:14 your prayer today: “Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love, so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives” (NLT).
Day by day the manna fell; O to learn this lesson well!… Day by day the promise reads, daily strength for daily needs.
