Quality watches are an investment, and only a few can afford high-end timepieces. Take the Louis Moinet Meteoris watch collection, for example. Only four were made, and one contains a real piece of meteorite. This beautiful watch collection sold for nearly five million dollars.
The child of God has a much better timepiece—the perfect timing of God for all the arrangements, circumstances, opportunities, and trials of life. The Swedish hymnist Carolina Sandell wrote of this in her great hymn, “Day by Day.” She said, “Day by day and with each passing moment, strength I find to meet my trials here; / Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment, I’ve no cause for worry or for fear.” She went on to remind us: “Ev’ry day the Lord himself is near me, with a special mercy for each hour.”
Each hour—moment by moment—our times are in His hands! We have hope because we know that God shows up at exactly the right moment.
