David Jeremiah daily devotional April 11 2022 :
Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Luke 12:32
Recommended Reading: Romans 8:31-32
There is a story told of a Texas rancher—years before the modern oil boom in that state—who was barely scraping out a living from his arid land. Near the end of his life, his fortune changed when oil was discovered on his land, and he became fabulously wealthy. He didn’t know that he already possessed everything he would ever need.
One of Jesus’ most well-known teachings is on worry over provisions (Matthew 6:25-34). The teaching is summarized near the end with the admonition to “seek first the kingdom of God”, and all that we need will be provided (verse 33). But in Luke’s version of the same teaching, an additional insight from Jesus is recorded: “Your Father has chosen to give you the kingdom” (Luke 12:32, NASB). We have been made participants in God’s Kingdom and all its resources, yet we often find ourselves worrying about daily provisions. Pursuing what we already have (God’s Kingdom) leads us to find what we need.
If you have received the gift of Christ, you have also received the gift of all you will ever need (Romans 8:31-32).
The best way to prepare for tomorrow is to seek God’s kingdom and righteousness today.
John Blanchard.
