Brian Houston Sermons Get Your Hands Up: we are surrounded right now by limitations, there are limitations to everything, where we can go and what we must wear, there is limitations on travels and the economy at large, limitations on the visitors we receive, limitations on physical church gatherings, on weddings, funerals and many more. some people might even have their own unique which could be a health related or financial related limitation.
2nd Corinthians 10 vs. 4 says, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds” in the bible, we can see different forms of warfare and different things God used. in the bible we see in the story of Moses and the Amalekites that as long as Moses hand was raised up Joshua was prevailing, however when Moses hands came down due to his tiredness, the battle will go against Joshua. Joshua did not know that the battle depended on the lifted hands of Moses.
some people in the church have a hard time with raising their hands in the church or to God in praise when things do not seem to be going well for them. the raised hands are very powerful, they are the universal sign of surrender, and also a sign of victory. when Moses was getting tired, he had two people help him keep his hands us, the Aron who was a priest and Hur from Judah whose name meant praise, this signifies intercession and prayers.
Pastor Brian Huston we can not loose with the combination of prayer and praise, just like God worked with raised hands for Moses back then, he will work for us. raising our hands and surrendering to God, it will lead to lifted hands in victory.
