This picture is a picture of my deceased mother. She was in the final stages of Alzheimer’s. She stayed with me in my house until she passed away. Having rested all day to come out to @tbn where I was speaking on my birthday, she wanted to surprise me. It was her last time hearing me speak there. Today is my mother’s birthday. In health, she was the strongest, brightest person I’ve ever known. Happy Birthday Momma!
She’d be happy to know that that her baby boy and all her children are still holding on. What a blessing she was to us all!

According to Bishop TD Jakes’ mother , Odith, was from Alabama, and his father, Ernest Sr., was from Mississippi, and each family had lived in its respective state since the end of the Civil War. Jakes was born on June 9, 1957 in the segregated community of South Charleston, West Virginia, the youngest of his parents’ three children.
