Bishop TD Jakes Sermon We need an Epiphany : The founder of Potter’s House church, author and film maker Bishop TD Jakes has come through with this educative and inspiring sermon titled ”We need an Epiphany”.
According to the famous preacher and Serita Jakes husband, Pastor TD Jakes, We’ll only go so far doing things our way. When pride gets in the path of our progress, we find ourselves getting comfortable amid our dysfunction. Like the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-24, who realized he was living beneath himself, God will release an epiphany that proves we can live another way. There’s greater in store for us, but we won’t get there until we decide to get up! It doesn’t matter how far we’ve gotten off track; there’s always more than one way to get back home.
In this sermon, Pastor TD Jakes started with making reference to the parable of the prodigal son and narrated how the prodigal son came back after squandering the father’s wealth and upon seeing him afar, his father rushed to meet him and despite his dirty nature, his father hugged and kissed him. According to him, we do not need to be clean for us to be hugged and kissed by Our father in heaven.
Bishop TD Jakes talked about the visit of the three wise men to see and honor the baby Jesus and after , God came to them in a dream and informed them of a different way to depart. This simply means that no matter how bad things are, there is another way.
Note that the word ”Epiphany” amongst other meanings, also means a moment of sudden and great revelation or realization.
