What is it like to be exposed in front of someone who is a Father or a Father figure? It’s embarrassing. That’s how Adam felt when he realized he was naked. God set boundaries for Adam to follow because a man is known not by what he says but by what he does. Discipline for a man is a sign of love. There are eight characteristics that children exhibit as a result of discipline.
1. Self- Control
2. Empathy
3. A Desire to Feel Good
4. Responsible
5. Love Themselves
6. Accountable
7. Respect Authority
8. Happy
We hide because of the fear that our authenticity will repel others from loving us. Often, we protect the most productive parts of ourselves; parts of ourselves that could save our entire families. When we start hiding God starts seeking, and He desires to find us and make us whole.
Bishop T.D. Jakes’ sermon “Hide and Go Seek” is centered on the idea of using life as a form of spiritual exploration. Jakes explains that we have to take time to seek out God and His will for our lives. He emphasizes that if we don’t actively seek God, we can’t truly understand Him.
Jakes explains that when we play a game of hide and go seek, we are actively searching for something. In the same way, we need to actively search for God and seek out His will. He explains that sometimes this can be hard and uncomfortable, but it’s ultimately rewarding.
T.D. Jakes encourages us to spend time in prayer, reading the Bible, and engaging in other spiritual activities that will help us find God. He explains that if we don’t actively seek God, we won’t experience the fullness of His presence.
The sermon serves as a reminder that God is always seeking us and we must respond with an active search for Him. It encourages us to take initiative in our faith and to not just sit back and wait for God to come to us. Jakes encourages us to seek God in all aspects of our lives and to trust that He will reveal Himself to us.
