Pastor Alex Seeley was born in Australia in 1973 to a Christian parents. She made the decision to follow Jesus and use her talents to serve the church from a young age. Pastor Alex met her husband Henry Seeley while working as a gospel minister.
For 17 years, Alex was one of the Executive Pastors of an Australian church. Alex, her husband, and their two children moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 2012, and began ministering to local musicians and artists in their house. Within 12 months, their basement was packed to capacity every Tuesday night with people hungering for an encounter with God. It was out of these nights that their church The Belonging Co was birthed in February 2014.
Pastor Alex is an advocate for racial justice and has been active in the fight against systemic racism. She has recently published a book called “The Uncomfortable Race Conversation” which encourages readers to have honest conversations about race and to work towards a more just and equitable society.
In addition to her work in the church and in the community, Pastor Alex is also an accomplished artist. She paints and creates digital artwork, which she sells through her website and at gallery shows.

Pastor Alex graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2008 with a degree in theology and a minor in history. She then earned her Masters of Divinity from Gordon–Conwell Theological Seminary in 2011.
Career
Alex has spent the greater part of her life in the Church. Her passion is to spread the gospel and make Jesus Christ known across the world. She rose to prominence after working as the Planet Shakers’ Executive Pastor for 17 years. Planet Shakers began as a tiny worship movement but has since grown to become one of Australia’s fastest-growing churches.
Alex and her husband decided to go to America in 2012, settling in Nashville. Because of their busy schedules, many individuals in Nashville were unable to attend church on Sundays. As God’s preachers, they formed a fellowship to share the Word with these people.
They began the Belonging Church with seven people and developed to more than a hundred. By 2014, the number had risen to between 100 and 130 in each service. The Church developed quickly after its official launch, garnering over 3,000 attendees. On Sunday and Tuesday nights, they held services.
Paper Girl Curators, an initiative for women in leadership in holy and secular spaces, was founded by her in 2022. It provides twelve-week programs with strong instruction and dialogues. She has also been on Christian chat shows such as Better Together, which is hosted by Laurie Crouch.
Alex has also had the opportunity to meet other successful gospel women such as Stephanie Ike, Christine Caine, and Priscilla Shirer.
