A Prayer For Before Dawn

My dear Lord and Savior,

I come before you at the start of this new day. Today is the day that you have made. I give thanks for the peace of last night and the sleep that renewed my spirit. I ask for your protecting care throughout this day. Help me to be aware of your presence with me. Let nothing disturb me in this day. May I keep my mind free from worry and anxiety. May I see no obstacle before me that cannot be overcome by your power and love. May I make progress in all my endeavors today, but may that progress always be in line with your will for my life.” To you belongs all glory, honor and power through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Amen

A Prayer For Before Dawn

Lord, I come before you at the start of this new day.

Lord, I come before you at the start of this new day. I thank you for your presence in and around me. You are always with me, always listening to my prayers and requests, watching over my steps each day, working in my life (and everyone else’s), ready to help me if I need it, giving guidance and peace when I seek it from you.

Thank you for being a loving God who wants us all to be happy!

Today is the day that you have made.

Today is the day that you have made.

You have given us the day, and we have no right to complain about it. You are in control of everything, and you can change anything at any moment.

Today, I give thanks for all that I have in my life: my family and friends, my health and abilities, this world around me that I get to experience every moment in new ways each day…and even those things which seem like curses become blessings when viewed through your eyes (Matthew 5:45).

I give thanks for the peace of last night and the sleep that renewed my spirit.

A good night’s sleep restores energy, promotes healing and growth, improves mood and memory, reduces stress levels, lowers blood pressure and helps to control weight.

How much sleep is enough? For most adults the amount of sleep needed each night is 7-8 hours. The average adult needs about one hour for every year of their age after age 25. For example, a person who is 35 years old will need about 8 hours of sleep each night to be healthy and feel well rested in the morning (35 x 1 = 35; 8 – 35 = -27). How much sleep do you need? You can figure it out with this simple formula: Subtract your age from 100 then divide that number by two (example: 100-40=60 divided by 2=30).

If you are 30 years old would you get 30 minutes more or less than an average person? Yes! You would get more because what’s right for most people isn’t right for everyone.”

I ask for your protecting care throughout this day.

I ask for your protecting care throughout this day.

I know that you are the Protector of those who put their trust in you, seek you and love you. You are also the protector of those who obey and worship you. I pray that as I go about my daily tasks, it will be with a heart that knows I am also under your protective hand.

Thank You for keeping me safe from harm and evil intentions today and always!

Help me to be aware of your presence with me.

God, I ask that you be with me.

That you remind me of your presence and presence of others in the moments before dawn as I awake, and as I go about my daily tasks.

I know that you are always with me. Your love is always present with me, no matter what happens or how far away I may be from home or family.

That’s why it is easy for me to feel at peace when thinking about our future together; because nothing can separate us from your love (Romans 8:38-39).

Let nothing disturb me in this day.

Let not any care, anxiety or fear disturb my repose. Let no angry thought, no bitter rancor or resentment be harbored in my heart. Let me not be jealous of another’s good fortune. Let me never harbor hatred toward another person or race of people; let me not harbor bitterness toward any individual or group of people who have done me wrong in the past; let me not keep alive memory of any unpleasantness I have experienced at the hands of others, but let all these things pass away as I begin this new day with a mind serene and a heart at peace with itself and its world.

Let nothing disturb me in this day; let no ungenerous feeling find lodging within my breast; may every vital energy within me be free from fear; may all love for others grow within my heart during this day so that I may work for universal goodwill among men and women everywhere on earth! Amen!

May I keep my mind free from worry and anxiety.

  • May I keep my mind free from worry and anxiety.
  • May I not be anxious about anything, but put my trust in you.
  • Amen!

May I see no obstacle before me that cannot be overcome by your power and love.

As the sun rises, you pray for the strength to overcome whatever obstacles are before you.

You ask God to help you anticipate danger and remove it. May I see no obstacle before me that cannot be overcome by your power and love.

May I make progress in all my endeavors today, but may that progress always be in line with your will for my life.

  • May I make progress in all my endeavors today, but may that progress always be in line with your will for my life.
  • God’s will is always good. It is never evil, never malicious, and never destructive.
  • God’s will is always for our good—not just for the good of others or even everyone else, but for each of us individually. Even if it seems like we’re not getting what we want from a situation because things aren’t aligned with our desires at first glance (or even after deeper inspection), that doesn’t mean that what’s happening isn’t actually part of God’s perfect plan for us as individuals.
  • God’s will is always for our highest good—and not just some temporary relief or short-term gains in exchange for long-term pain or loss; He wants us to be happy now AND forevermore! We can trust Him completely when it comes down to trusting His perfect plan to work out exactly as He intends it to work out—in spite of any seeming imperfections along the way!

To you belongs all glory, honor and power, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

It’s a simple prayer that you can use for encouragement and inspiration as you start your day. The author of this article is reminding us that in all things, God is with us and has a plan for our lives. This is why we should take comfort in knowing that He knows what we need before we ask Him for it—and because of this, He always answers our prayers on His terms, not ours.

To you belongs all glory, honor and power through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

We don’t have to go through a day without God’s protection and help.

You can ask God for help and protection to face the day with confidence.

  • “Lord, help me through this day.”
  • “Lord, protect me today.”
  • “Lord, make my steps steady today.”

As you pray these prayers of protection and assistance, think of any areas of your life that need a little extra attention from God: work, school or home life; finances; health concerns; your relationship with friends or family members. While you’re praying these prayers reflect on what those things are and how God might be able to guide you through them in a way that honors him most.
