John Piper Sermons Should Couples Use Role-Play in the Bedroom: we were given some perspectives on sexuality that will aid couples get their bearings if they are willing to seek Gods will for their sexual lives. he wants us to know that Gods will for our sexual life is the most satisfying way of life.
firstly pastor john piper wants us to know that fantasizing sin in our minds is Sin, playing out a situation or behaviour in our mind because of its pleasure which will be sinful, a sinful situation or sinful behaviour if you did it outwardly is sin in your mind and if this is true for fantasies then it is all the more true that play act sin is sin. pretending to do something which if you did it when not pretending it is sin, that pretending is sin.
This is because in Matthew 5 v s. 27 “Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery , But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell. Jesus’s standard of holiness is not merely a standard of bodily deeds, but also a pleasure of mental delight. if you pursue a pleasure in your mind which is unlawful for your body, you are sinning.
Pastor John Piper defined sin as the hearts preference for anything above God and his ways. it is not primarily the movement of the muscles, or the body, it is primarily and fundamentally the movement of the soul, the movement in pursuit of pleasure in a way that God has forbidden, its the failure to purse pleasure in God himself above all else. therefore, if you mutually agree to act out a rape case in your bedroom it is sin, if you playfully agree that you are two strangers who happened to meet ecah other in the woods and have sex, you are sinning. In conclusion, fantasised sin is sin no matter how many people agree on it.
