Max Lucado Sermons When You Think You’re Past Your Prime – Max Lucado convinces us, that we are not past our prime, irrespective of what we may think or feel. he said we should not think our best days are behind us. he used Moses as an example. Moses was a prominent man in Egypt, he went to the best school and had a good life. things in Moses life took a drastic turn after he killed an Egyptian who was beating up a Hebrew and instead of getting gratitude from the he Hebrew, the Hebrew asked him if he has come to kill him too. Moses knew at that point that he was in trouble so he ran into the wilderness.
Moses went from eating with kings to being a shepherd. Moses thought that was it for him, he thought that was the end of his story to the point that he got comfortable with it. we that in Exodus 3 vs. 11, “But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”
We notice that at forty when Moses was still vibrant and was still with the king, god did nOt call him to liberate Egypt, if it was up to us men, that would have have been the perfect and best time to call him, but the ways of god are not the ways of man. when he was 80, God called him why? what did Moses know now that he did not know when he was younger? A lot. Moses was going to lead the people from Egypt to the wilderness for forty years, and to be able to do that he had to be more experienced, he had to know the snakes of the wilderness, the weather, he also married a woman of faith.
Moses did not know that he was in role, he did not know that he was being trained for a better future, he must have thought the lord was done with him. same applies to us God is not done with us. Do not listen to the lie you tell yourself or the world tells you, Philippians 1 vs. 6 says, “be confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. believe and hold on to this wonderful promise of our father who never fails to keep to his words
