Bishop T.D. Jakes current health condition : The founder of Potter’s House Church, and Popular United States’ preacher, Bishop T.D. Jakes has been reported to be in a stable condition a day after suffering a medical emergency during a sermon.
Videos that circulated on social media on Sunday showed Bishop Jakes, 67, preaching before the congregation at the church, Potter’s House, when he began to slump over in his stool and dropped an item he had been holding. Church members rushed to his side.
In a statement posted to social media on Sunday, Potter’s House said, “During today’s service, Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour long message.”
The statement continued, “Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals.”
It was not clear what happened to Mr. Jakes during the sermon. The Potter’s House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Monday.
The entire Potter’s House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community,” the church’s statement said.
Bishop Jakes’ daughter, Sarah Jakes Roberts, and her husband, Touré Roberts – who both frequently preach at the Potter’s House – said in a video posted to Instagram late Sunday that Jakes was “already beginning to improve.”
“It’s a reminder that even going into this holiday season, we need to love on the people who you hold near and dear and just take the time to be grateful for all the people God’s given you,” said Sarah Jakes Roberts.
Touré Roberts, added, “Obviously today could have been a tragic day but it wasn’t; by the mercy of God, by the grace of God, Bishop is doing well he’s recovering well, he’s under medical care, he’s strong. We’re trying to get him to sit down, he’s the strong Bishop that we know, but we really can’t thank you enough for your prayers.”
