“Need some help?” How encouraging it is to hear those words! They may come from a neighbor who sees we could use an extra set of hands. Or they may come from a complete stranger when we’ve had to pull to the side of the road with a flat tire. We all need help at times—and one of the missions of God’s angels is to help us in ways no one else can.
Even Jesus needed the help of an angel in the most difficult moment of His life. He was in the Garden of Gethsemane, praying to the Father about the path ahead of Him—a path leading to a cross on Calvary. And “an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him.” So great was His anguish that He sweat drops of blood as He prayed (Luke 22:43-44). If Jesus needed strength and support in a trying moment of His life, how much more might we need the same?
Live a life of awareness of angels when you need help. Don’t project how they will help; just believe that they may be God’s way to meet your need.
Angels are the dispensers and administrators of the divine beneficence towards us.
