And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.

A woman on a British television show won a complete makeover to be done on the air. Sadly, the makeup, hairstyle, and clothing turned the woman into a terrible caricature of herself. When she looked in the mirror, she burst into tears. She demanded the makeover stop, and with cameras following her, she left the building and drove away—right into a wreck on live TV. The studio audience was gasping, but the host burst into laughter and shouted, “April Fools!” It had been a prank on his co-host.
The fact is most of the world’s makeovers don’t work very well. People keep trying to look better, do better, act better, dress better, smile better, all to gain self-respect and influence. But eloquence is a spiritual quality that comes from the inner person. The grace and graciousness we need comes by faith, by walking with the Lord, by casting our cares on Him, and by living in the light of His love. He warms our smiles, lights up our eyes, softens our features, and brings joy to our personalities.
Only He who made us can make us over. Only He can make us overcomers!
Faith shows God’s love and Jesus’ victory, even through the chaos of life.
